Behemoth

The land around is devoid of life, an arid desert that only gets rain a few months a year. That is the only time the city is closed off when a lake develops around.

Demographics

The main workforce of Behemoth is inside of the old craft itself. Sorting and setting up orders for the larger cities. There are no real rich populations as people are given enough to avoid such a thing, no point when land doesn't truly exist except for out of the craft and that is a pure wasteland. The printers, which create all of the money for the city is owned by the city and not by one person. Metalworkers, work with the incoming metal to sort them into classes of quality and rarity. If something is done wrong at the start then the rest of the line can get clogged up, this can back up work for a while as a machine is needed to be fixed.

Government

The government is an elected council that comes from each department that helps run the city. From sanitation to the metalwork floor.

Defences

There are defences in this old world machine, old _ guns that were used as a last-ditch effort to keep the ship safe. The problem is how old they had become and the lack of maintenance on them with the added bonus that no one knows how it works any more. It is unknown if the guns even still work. The only thing for a defence that the old ship has, is the ship itself with its hardened outer shell with the unopenable door that acts as its gate and entrance.

Industry & Trade

Being a central hub for trade makes them the go-to place to sell away treasures and leading creator of wares of the area. The main intake is that of scrap to fuel the mass printers from the old world.

Infrastructure

There is a limitation when it comes to building a city within a predefined structure, especially when you reach the max population. Rooms can only become smaller as more people are jammed in, for this reason many become traders to get out of the stuffy living space.

History

The origins of the Behemoth are a mystery, at least in the fact that it never got to the location it was supposed to create an Ark. Instead, it was found later by a completely different sort of people, these people still had the knowledge of how Arks are supposed to operate and so managed to bring it online. This population was the first inhabitants and created the first bit of trade in the area, becoming a place where scrap could be sold to be recreated into useful materials once again.
All of this knowledge was kept till modern days, but kept for the residents as the city has largely locked out anyone from outside the city. City-born traders are the exception.
The city is open for trade at all times of the year, however, there are a few months where the whole area becomes inexcusable as the area floods. Reaching a height of a few meters and becomes a freshwater lake with the city right in the middle. This is a few months of downtime for the city.
Fishing is done at this time as a strange fish shows up, a sort of flatfish. This is the only form of fresh meat that the city will naturally get for themselves as the city is manly vegetarian-based but trades for meat. The end of the season brings in a load as the older fish die and can be collected for the city to store, but care needs to be taken with this for fear of rotten meat. Swimming is also done at this time, but out of the fun of it, with a competition at the last month before it starts to dry up.
During this time traders in the area will be paid to travel to this lake to catch the fish, though this is rare as they are typically less trained in such a thing. They will simply use this as some time off as well and bring the family if they have some.
