Waleran Button
Waleran is a young priest of Cyrrollalee in Oakey Doakey. He found himself unexpectedly in charge after the attack.
As a child, he often found himself drawn to the small church in the village. After a brief attempt to start a career in apple farming (where he killed an apple tree by over pruning it), he took up Clovis' invitation to come on as his apprentice. His training was far from complete when Clovis was killed, and he feels quite out of his depth.
He lives in a small cottage on the outskirts of Oakey Doakey with his parents.
