King Stephen Stervia

King Stephen Stervia

Stephen Stervia was born into a modest family, not having much to his name. He grew up partially under the rule of the disgraced king. His parents were taxed nearly into poverty, and it was then that he knew he had to do something. 31 at the time, he began getting a group of people together to form a rebellion. This rebellious group would later be the cause of what’s known today as The People’s Rebellion. He led the charge into the castle, and he was the one who dragged the first king into the courtyard. Stephen was the one that declared “The people must be heard.” The rebel group all decided that he would be the best king of their new nation, and reluctantly he agreed. By the next dawn, the rebels had announced their decision, and Stephen was king of the new world. He declared that from that winter forward the years would be counted, and no one could be taxed without reason. As the years went on and he got older, he realized he couldn’t logically deal with the entire continent worth of problems from his people. He decided to appoint six advisors to help him reach the furthest parts of his nation. Eventually, each of those advisors wanted to be kings as well. Stephen, knowing he couldn’t handle all the issues that kept arising, decided to let them start their own kingdoms in the areas that they were assigned to. He negotiated borders with each of them, and helped them negotiate borders with the other kings. By the time he had passed in 102 CE, the seven kingdoms were formed and didn’t need his help anymore. Since his death, he has been a symbol of everything a monarch should be, and every kingdom, not just his own, honors his memory and respects his reign.
