Liri'el
Liri'el is a Healer, and a young widow who has found solace in her calling to help others. She is from the Ch'enoweth island archipelago far to the north of the capital and govermental power, where, due to the smaller population size, random mutations do crop up occasionally, and Liri'el is one such example: she is a partial albino, her hair and skin as white as the fine pearls which keep the archipelago solvent, although her lips are a pale lilac, and her eyes light blue. Liri'el is used to being stared at, but it never occurs to her that people might also find her features and grace lovely. She cares only for the health and wellbeing of her patients, and has few friends in Kei-Larr, the city where she has set up shop as a Healer, but she is wise enough not to work herself into exhaustion and, though she is an only child, she is still close to her parents and her eccentric aunt. Likewise, though she married early for a Tanjiian, she and her husband were still considering the question of children when he died in a rare and freak transportation accident.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Liri'el keeps in shape, primarily by swimming as she did everyday as an island child. Hence she has a long and lean but well toned swimmer's body.
Body Features
As a Healer, she has a Healer's mark tattoo on her shoulder, which she largely keeps hidden, preferring to wear her badge of office on her clothing.
Facial Features
Liri'el has a slightly elongated, heart-shaped face with narrow white eyebrows that people rarely notice, a generous mouth that is too pale to be interesting, and large, sky blue eyes, which are her best feature.
Identifying Characteristics
Being a partial albino, her white hair is her most identifying feature, although she also bears the Healer's mark on her shoulder.

Personal history
Liri'el met her late husband, Pa'them in school where she was an apprentice healer and he a musical prodigy. She was tall and lanky, with her hair embarrassingly short due to an experimental alchemical fire. He was a year younger and a foot shorter, having not hit his growth spurt yet, but none of that mattered between them. Liri'el was his inspiration, the sweet soul who made sure he remembered to eat and sleep regularly. And Pa'them was nothing less than entrancing when he was allowed near virtually any instrument; he made her feel seen. So, despite the objections of his mother, they were married immediately after graduation.

Employment
Works as an independent Healer in Kei-Larr, while living above her business, the Silver Sails Clinic. Because she turns no one away, her finances are often sketchy, but she always manages somehow, without compromising her principles.
Accomplishments & Achievements
A visitor to Taj'erii City for the disastrous festival during which it was almost swamped, Liri'el treated many people for shock that day, as well as minor, panic-inflicted injuries. It was eerie working beneath the dome of ice to restore people to some sense of wellbeing, peace, and normalcy. Nevertheless, she wishes she could go back and have nothing pressing to do but admire the terrifying and wondrous magnificence of it.
Mental Trauma
Liri'el was desperately depressed and traumatized after the death of her husband of less than a decade. She would probably have withdrawn from Healer Academy and gone home to isolate herself from the world if it had not been for the steady support, acceptance, and a bit of appropriately timed tough love from her close family and a few dear friends. However, she was encouraged to continue, and not allowed to wallow over-much in her sorrows or become too numb inside, for which she is now grateful, finding fulfillment in her profession.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
As a child, Liri'el was intrigued by her eccentric aunt, Nurya'tii, an herbalist and creator of medicines. Knowing the purpose of each powder or tincture in the shop inspired the young girl with a desire to help people using these medicines, to become a Healer.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
In memory of her late husband Pa'them, Liri'el has attempted to teach herself to play one of his favorite stringed instruments, the utah'rr, which has a cello-like timber, but is mainly strummed or plucked. Sadly, she has never risen above mediocre proficiency.

Family Ties
Liri'el is close to her elderly father, A'arno and her somewhat younger mother, Valluha, as well as her father's sister Nurya'tii, whose age is closer to Liri'el's than to A'arno's. She tries, as often as she can, to visit the Ch'enowith Islands where Valluha still works as a botanist specializing in the rare and exotic plants found there, As an independently wealthy and highly sought after expert in white and colored pearls, Nurya'tii has more freedom to travel to Kei-Larr, where Liri'el's Silver Sails Clinic is located.
This makes up for the cold, formality with which Liri'el's mother-in-law, Glailaren, treats the young healer on the occasions when she cannot manage to avoid the woman she found unworthy to marry her only son, and now irrationally blames for his death. Pa'them's two sisters, Mahe'eia and Yu'shika, seem to loathe Liri'el much less, but nevertheless lack the courage to disregard their mother's wishes and welcome Liri'el into the family, behaving in a stiff and meticulously polite manner at all times
Social Aptitude
Remarked upon as odd and different due to her white hair her whole life, Liri'el finds it difficult to open up to strangers and does not trust easily. She is almost painfully shy when not directly involved in her role as a Healer. Although she knows, consciously, that Glailaren's hatred is unfounded, it has an impact on her as a highly empathetic person, to the extent that she now doubts that, being from a slightly lower social strata, she did deserve to marry Pa'them.
Hobbies & Pets
Liri'el has an affinity for herbivores and prey species, especially marine mammals, but it is unfeasable to keep any of these as pets as long as her living space is on the upper floor above her workspace. She is, however, also passionate about green, growing things, which thrive in her care, and she hopes to help establish more restorative gardens throughout the city of Kei-Larr where the sick in body, mind, or spirit can find sursease among the carefully chosen herbs and trees, and the healthy can enjoy a quiet moment of calm and tranquility.
Wealth & Financial state
Because of its extensive charity work, the Silver Sails Clinic never seems to be able to turn a decent profit, but Liri'el is an exceptionally fine Healer, and word is spreading in Kei-Larr which gradually brings her wealthier patients, as well, so that she need not worry too much about remaining solvent.
