The Silent

Leader: Sly Dean

Primary Deity: Witnear (Goddess of Secrets, Knowledge, Trickery, and Arcana)
Secondary Devotion: Veni "Bright-Spear" Villichi (Goddess of War, Light, and Tempest)

Province : Silent

Overview: The Silent are a clandestine order of monks, spies, and ascetic warrior-scribes devoted to the duality of divine wisdom and hidden truth. To outsiders, they are myth wrapped in silence. Robed figures with bandaged bodies, speaking rarely, moving with uncanny grace, and watching always. To Nobles in the know, they are House Villichi’s secret weapon against infiltration, necromancy, and corruption.

Most serve as keepers of forbidden knowledge, recorders of dangerous truths, and enforcers of divine secrets. They are the ears in the walls, the eyes behind mirrors, and the blade in the dark when knowledge must be preserved or silenced.

Doctrine: The Silent believe that truth is sacred, but dangerous when handled carelessly. They teach that knowledge must be earned, guarded, and sometimes buried. Their reverence for Witnear shapes their belief in discretion, subtlety, and layered meanings. From The Brightspear, they draw strength, discipline, and a willingness to act decisively when needed.

They do not proselytize. They recruit only those who are willing to be forgotten.

Appearance and Symbols: Most members of the Silent wear bandages around their bodies, both to hide their identies and to mimic Witnear's holy symbol of a bandaged fist. These are also dyed in darker colours to better hide themselves from sight.

Reputation and Influence: The Silent are respected, feared, and utterly indispensable. Nobles court their favor when dealing with magical curses, buried scandals, or House Charon infiltrators. Yet even the highest lords hesitate to ask too much. After all, the Silent might be watching from the shadows of your next clandestine meeting and they do not forget. They are rumored to maintain a secret archive known as The Mirror-Archive, hidden somewhere within the peaks of the province Silent. It is said that to be written into its pages is to become immortal. Or erased.

They are also famed for their creation of the secretive Whisperglass, small magical devices used for silent communications..
