The Conclave of the Nobles
. Every ten years, all of the Noble Houses travel to the old kingdom capital of Oavenzeg to celebrate the fallen kingdom. Each house sets off as soon as they need to and makes their way across the land to arrive in time for the opening ceremony. The city of Oavenzeg, the diplomatic capital of the Roresh Oligarchy, swells from three thousand citizens to close to one hundred thousand. Once the eight Great Houses arrive, the month-long celebration begins. The Conclave of Nobles begins with the March of the Thousands. Each house parades through the city in a determined order-smallest to Largest. The weakest and least influential houses spend vast percentages of their limited wealth to attend and show off what they have to offer. Over the history of the Conclave, hundreds have bankrupted themselves in the hope of impressing the right house to gain patronage. The Nascent Houses march in their hundreds, each one trying to outdo the others. Little attention is paid to them. They’re not worth the looks for the most part.
