Wounds That Do Not Bleed

They say this chasm is the ultimate witness and proof of mankinds treachery. Once upon the time, when the gods walked the earth among their creations, a group of humans learnt of evil and decided they no longer wish to do what they are told and wanted to seize the life for themselves. They banded together and slain one of the gods, to prove, that despite all the supernatural power and grandeur, gods are not allmighty and can meet their end as anybody else. This act of those First Traitors meant that the heavenly beings decided to abandon life on earth for good as it was no longer uncorrupted with darkness and thus not worthy of protecting.   Naru was the god that was slain, with an enchanted spear that was deeply etched into his torso, after he was fell to the ground by being intoxicated by a sleep inducing potion. He never woke from his slumber and he is the only god that remains on earth to this day. Some say, people who are destined to meet death on their journeys, can see him in their dreams days before it happens. Naru's body slowly fell apart forming different mountains and hills and other rocky features across the land, until it slowly faded and became one with the landscape. His mortal wound being the only exception, the void is forever protruding from the earth, reminding humanity what their ancestors had done.   He was the spouse of Adonike, the sculptor, who created the mortal vessels out of clay, when the world was still young and malleable. This is why the act itself is seen as a treason and signifies the end of eden. This is why the gods no longer listen to the pains and fears of mortals.
