Arasea
The Waring Cardinals: The cities of Arasea, Gricsall, Kimbervale, and Cirran, have been at war with each other for longer than time can remember. While the instigating event may have been forgotten, the continual turmoil revolves around the rights to the underwater deep caves and mines that are filled with precious gems, metals, and minerals. Each region’s jewel crafting is distinguished and unique, each emphasizing a specific aspect of the world. The name was given to reflect not only the locations of the cities relative to the cardinal directions, but also because each was a devoted zealot to a deity of beauty. Arasea in the north were devotees to Nerefina and known for their work with rubies, carnelian, garnet, and even rust. Gricsall to the east worshiped Ha'Selle and the perfection of diamonds. Kimbervale to the south praised Undine, and prized sapphires and ruled the waterways of the grand lakes and rivers. Cirran to the west, revered Rysez, and looked for nothing more than gold and to amass wealth. To many outsiders, the four cities are nothing more than bands of raiders and thieves living under rule through fear and power, bent on elimination of the competition.
