Session 8: A Foul Realization Report

General Summary

Trapped by birds in the mysterious cave they were taking shelter in, the Party and their new ally defended their camp from the strange Corrupted Chocobos. Waking at the begining of the fight, Thaelin immediatelyl headed into the fray beside he sister. Having rushed introductions. During the scuffle, one of the Chocobos killed Barneby, Rue and Sterling's Donkey. The fight started to calm down then Thaelin changed into a Bear. Strickened with fear, the Chocobos started to scatter away from the group. The party dispatched a few of the feathered foul by the end. Once the battle had ended, Thaelin embraced his sister and started to question what had happened during his black out. After being filled in, the party turned to finding a way out of this cave. Thaelin suddenly started screaming as his eyes burned and showed glowing footprints along the floor heading into the darkness. Following the footprints, they find that they lead and stopped at a water hole in the corner of the cave. Venturing forward, Thaelin found that it came out to another hallway and possibly a way out. Through comforting Hitchock through speak with animals all parties were able to travel to the next hallway through the water. Heading north they found a pathway stopping at a elf made door and a bronze statue of a demon figure. Sterling was able to open the lock only to trip a strange trap that reached out and grabbed him, pulling and constricting his bones until Savaeris was able to pull him free. With some iron spikes and help, Sterling was able to disable the trap and continued into a room with a spiral stair case, a large lit braizer, and a stone table. Before clearing the room, Thaelin rushed over the the stone table and moved it enough to find a tapestry under the table with a strange horned figured. As Genris looked it over, he found that it was the simble of the God of Death, believed to be the creater of Chonta. Leaving Hitchcock in this area, they continued down the stairs, dispatching a strange elf with the ability of darkness and dark ash skin and black hair. They found a few items and a strange key on them. In the room below they found a strange rickety bridge, another braiser and a statue with the representation of the God of Death standing on a pile of bodies holding a sword. As they approached the bridge they feel the heat emit from the lava below as Savaeris spots in the distance a body sliding out of a hole on the other side, splashing into the lava below. With the bridge ahead they start to prepare for the crossing.
