Rue Phylia
Paler than the moons of Tampath, but brighter than the minds of the Ordiri, Rue runs to the beat of her own drum. A story for the children, or a song for the drunkards, she can tune any man, woman, or child towards her personality. Behind her musical smile is a gleaming eye that catches the light off any valuable gem. She's a glutton for adventure, a sap for a challenge, and an expert at encouraging others to join in.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Tall and slender like the bow for her mystical viola, she stands. Spindly fingers that delicately touch the strings like a spider to her web, she weaves a song of sweet yet bitter sorrow. Her narrow features form a heart-shaped face, with eyes that glow like fine amber.
Body Features
Her skin is pale, per her nature as a Yentu-na, and her eyes are large with curiosity. She has long legs and a petite torso. Her most notable features are her blonde bobbed hair and amber eyes. She wears a headband colored emerald, made from the silks her parents created when she was a little girl.
Facial Features
Heart-shaped face with small, thin lips. Her nose is narrow and pointed, and her cheekbones hold her face high in the air. Her eyes are a deep amber, round and large. Her hair comes down to just above her shoulders, held back with an emerald silk band.
Identifying Characteristics
Most notably, her amber eyes and blonde hair. She has the pale skin of a Yentu-na.
Physical quirks
Her fingers are quite long, which allows for reaching delicate and intricate notes on her viola. Her eyes are not exactly like ordinary Yentu-na, which tend to be more orange or red. Instead, hers leveled out at an amber color.

In general, Rue has a gift for learning whatever she picks up. She has an unquenchable curiosity for how things work and their value. She constantly keeps an upbeat attitude and motivates herself to keep learning.
Apparel & Accessories
Rue wears a sleeveless green top and high-waisted joggers. She uses heavy duty boots for traveling long distances. Her parents gifted her an emerald-colored silk band for her bobbed hair, and also a long green travelers cape from their textile shop. She wears an emerald necklace, a gift from her life partner, and has a matching belt she "bought" on her latest travel.

Rue starts as a level 5 bard. She is proficient in her viola, but also plays a pan flute and a cajon (a small portable wooden box drum). She also has a knack for knowing who is lying when talking to her, mostly because she herself is usually the liar!

Personal history
Rue was born to Artemis and Xavier in the valley of Tortas. Her parents are textile makes, finest silks, and fabrics around. Rue always had a curiosity about the world. There was a traveler named Ferdinand that played the panflute. He would tell stories of his adventures and get all the kids excited. Rue could tell that his stories were full of lies.
When she approached him, he only laughed and said, "I merely embellish for the joy in their eyes. Wouldn't you?"
She never forgot Ferdinand, and as she grew up, she felt like she understood what he was saying.
Year 525, in the Winter, she said farewell to her parents to make the pilgrimage to Tivr, to enter the sacred forest in search of the ancient tree, Iterla. Her parents gifted her an emerald silk headband, and a green adventurer's cape to keep her warm and safe.
The journey through the forest was long and cold. The trees seemed mysteriously unaffected by Tampath's winter. She clutched her cape close to her and looked towards the sky.
For many days, she wandered aimlessly, her mind beginning to fill itself. Who are you? What is your purpose? She was a simple child, raised by kind, well-meaning parents. She was a nobody. She had no vision or dream.
She, of course, had learned of the different Yentu. Some could breathe underwater, while others seek glory through merits in leadership. She only knew her gender would be female, as she felt more semblance of her mother.
As she walked, her body started to change, her figure, though already slender, curved and sculpted itself into that of a young woman. There were growing pains, and she had to stop frequently to wait out the contractions of her muscles.
At one point she rested, closing her eyes for a moment. She saw the darkness of her mind and when she tried to open her eyes again, she could not. Instead, a dazzling light blinded her mind and all she was left with was a single memory.

Ferdinand. She could visualize him better than ever before. His music was soft and welcoming, his stories acted out with his facial expressions and hand gestures. And his eyes, golden like the sun.
Rue understood, and when she opened her eyes, the ancient tree stood before her. She reached towards the stump and the color drained from her skin. Her eyes burned like a fire rekindled. And Iterla spoke her destiny with far more grandeur than she would have ever imagined.

Lilith became her mentor. As another Yentu-na, she practiced the ancient art of storytelling. For the next 200 years, Rue learned the history of the Elves, and the ways of the people across the land. As they traveled, Rue picked up instruments as she went. Her first was the pan flute, just like Ferdinand''s, but her heart was mesmerized by the delicate strings of the viola. She practiced the basics everyday in between her lessons with Lilith.
Employment
Rue works as a traveling trader/barterer. She buys things people are looking for and in return gets things for someone else. Its a grand puzzle for her life to solve, and it gives her a pip to her step.
Accomplishments & Achievements
After swearing her partnership with Sterling Phylia, Rue started to take on more challenging adventures. They moved to the capital of Shyrtaesi, a large city near the coast and canyon. While living there, she managed to (and quite accidentally) save several children from drowning.
