Epoch The Seasonweaver

Epoch (they/them) - Fae Nature deity Referred to as The Seasonweaver Worshipped by Nature elves, Orcs , farmers, Druids and rangers .

History

In the ancient echoes of creation, when the cosmos danced in chaotic harmony, Epoch emerged as the embodiment of nature's eternal cycle. Horned creatures, the heralds of seasons, bowed before the tranquil majesty of this elder god. Epoch, The Seasonweaver, held dominion over the ever-changing tapestry of life, weaving the threads of seasons into the grand design of existence.   As the elder gods withdrew to their divine realms after the fall of Lunus, Epoch lingered on the material plane. Serene and ancient, Epoch chose not to sever its connection with the mortal realm completely. Despite the growing reclusiveness of the elder gods, Epoch maintained a watchful eye over the unfolding drama of nature, a silent guardian of the balance.

Physical Form:

Epoch, the embodiment of nature's eternal cycle, stands as a colossal figure woven from the threads of time and the very essence of the changing seasons. Towering above the mortal realm, Epoch's presence commands both reverence and tranquility, a living testament to the delicate dance of life   Antlered Crown: Atop Epoch's regal visage rests a crown of majestic antlers, a symbol of dominion over the untamed forces of nature. These antlers, intricate and branching like the limbs of ancient oaks, bear the weight of the seasons. Each prong represents a facet of the ever-turning wheel of life, from the gentle buds of spring to the frost-kissed branches of winter. Moss and lichen adorn the antlers, creating a living tapestry that tells the story of the passing seasons.   Antlered Staff: In Epoch's right hand, a staff adorned with antlers stands as a symbol of authority and the guiding force of nature. Carved with intricate symbols representing the seasons, the staff channels the god's power to nurture and shape the world. With a touch, the staff can awaken dormant seeds, call forth spring rains, or usher in the gentle slumber of winter.   Seasonal Vestments: Epoch's attire changes with the shifting seasons. In spring, the god adorns a robe woven with vibrant blossoms and delicate leaves. Summer sees the attire shimmer with the golden hues of sunlight. Autumn brings a cloak of warm, earthy tones, adorned with acorns and seeds. In winter, Epoch's vestments mimic the serene beauty of freshly fallen snow.   Tranquil Gaze: Epoch's eyes, pools of ancient knowledge, reflect the serene calmness that permeates the elder god's essence. A gaze that speaks of eons passed, of the gentle touch of spring breezes and the hushed whispers of autumn leaves. Though the other elder gods retreated to their divine realms, Epoch's gaze remained fixed on the material plane, ever attuned to the ebb and flow of life.

Caretaker of Mortals:

While unable to directly influence the mortal realm, Epoch's benevolence endures. The elder god has cultivated a plethora of younger and half-gods, emissaries of nature's will. These divine beings, touched by the seasons, act as stewards of the land, ensuring the delicate balance between flora and fauna.

Creator of Nature's Children:

Epoch, in a moment of divine inspiration, breathed life into the first nature elves and orcs. Elves, graceful and attuned to the mysteries of the forest, embody the gentleness of spring and the vibrancy of summer. Orcs, hardy and resilient, are a testament to the strength of autumn and the endurance of winter. Both races share a connection to the seasons, a gift bestowed upon them by the Prime Gardener.   Epoch stands as a sentinel, a witness to the ever-turning wheel of nature. Despite the gods' retreat, the elder god of nature continues to nurture the mortal realm, ensuring that the song of the seasons plays on in perpetual harmony.

Influence and worship

Epoch communicates with its followers in subtle yet profound ways, fostering a connection that transcends the material plane. The druid circles, devout in their worship, have learned to interpret the gentle whispers of nature and the lingering magical echoes left behind by the elder god. The communion with Epoch manifests through the following means:   Sacred Groves and Glades: Sacred groves and glades, untouched sanctuaries of nature, are the favored places where Epoch's presence is felt most strongly. Within these hallowed spaces, the veil between the mortal realm and the divine is thin. Druids gather in these serene locales to commune with the natural energies that resonate with Epoch's essence.   Seasonal Omens: Nature itself becomes a canvas upon which Epoch paints its messages. The changing of seasons carries potent omens, each shift bearing significance. A sudden burst of blossoms in the midst of winter may signify hope, while the early falling of leaves might foretell challenges ahead. Druids are adept at interpreting these seasonal omens, understanding the subtleties in nature's language.   Animal Messengers: Horned creatures, emissaries of Epoch, often serve as messengers to the druid circles. Deer, elk, and other horned beings appear in significant moments, their movements and behavior reflecting the will of the Prime Gardener. Druids keenly observe these creatures, seeking guidance and wisdom from their silent but potent communication.   Magical Resonance: The magic left behind by Epoch resonates in the natural world. Druids attuned to the ebb and flow of magical energies can sense these echoes. A rustle of leaves, the shimmering of a pool of water, or the radiant glow of moonlit flowers may signify the lingering magic of the Prime Gardener, a tangible reminder that Epoch's influence extends beyond the divine realms.     In communion with Epoch, the druid circles act as guardians of the natural balance, interpreting the subtle language of nature and the echoes of the elder god's divine influence. The presence of Epoch, though no longer direct, is woven into the fabric of the mortal realm, and its followers continue to honor and preserve the sacred connection between nature and the divine.
