Mist Vale Province

The Mist Vale Province or Mist Woods Province is found withing the Teggut sector (north west) of Thiralon, encompasing the settlements of Tanist (the leading settlment), Toolikari, Lenlnd, and Loggers Haven. aswel as encompasing some interesting POI's of the Toolikari markets, The Mush-merk Kreek Marsh, The leacher woods (thats full of a bunch of ruins, secrets and deadly/odd animals), and north root west walk.

Geography

Over half of the Province is composed of the large fog forest known as the Leacher Woods or Leader Wood. covering most of the land within with large oak like trees that naturely emit an acidic (Ph) fog; that causes halusinations. and the rest of the land is either wet lands or planes.

Ecosystem

natural creatures that live in the areas live symbiotically with the mist forest of the leacher woods. naturally this entire world is full of deadly creatures and when looking at other places on Thiralon its more tame than some and not so much as others, with the strongest creatures being nothing more than "warped nature" (monstrosities if you will). there are birds that stand on brankes of the trees with their beaks open campfladging themselves as flowers waiting for insects to try to drink some pollen to eat them.
Dissplacer beasts that have found themselves thriving within the forest because of its already causing visual imperment grants them an upper hand within the province.
A creature known as a roapper (but not that one) are one of the most common predators within. a large squid like animal that lays on the top of trees dangeling their vine like tentacles down below the tree line, when an animal comes to close, the roper will try to pull the creature throught the tree to bludgen and disorient them as they try and make a one and done strike to end the conflict and garentey a meal. Once more since the fog can be deadly the unprepared travelers the environment allows these creatures to thrive. notibly the animal needs food that is freshly dead, if the flys have gotten to something, this predator will find no intrest in eating it.

Localized Phenomena

The entire Province is specificly displayed within the "splash zone" of something known as the mist flood. a occurence that happens periodicly maybe twice a month, when one occures the mist producesed from the trees of the Leacher Wood will disperce outwerds engothing many settlements with. some locations are built in such a way were the mist is less likely to cause as many problems like tide walls on the exterior of larger settlemts to prevent the initial "mist tide", or building that are built tall with bridges inbetween so that when they occure the people just stand above it.

Fauna & Flora

Aggressive Fauna:

from bottom to top these are the strongest to weakest aggressive fauna.
  • The Toolikari Creek-Marsh Man Eater: this single animal is the bane of the village of Toolikari, known for hunting night fishers and getting more ambitious every day with its attacks, easily with its large size appearing as a mix between and toad and a alligator. their have been very few sightings of the creature but they have some level high intelligence since they have the ability adjust a capsized boat potentially because it knowns that an intact boat is a reliable source of food. beyond that their has been a sighting of it much closer to the town of Tanist but also noted as significantly larger and less caring on the care of preserving a food source.
  • Mist-Wood Displacer Beasts: casually called ghost cats by locals, these deadly animals are directly related to the Displacer Beast from the lands of odd, they have adapted to not only produce a field of displacement from their glands but also this variant has a lighter almost snowy coat to help with camouflage, and the ability to project their voice to points further away from them like a ventriloquist.
  • Tree Squids: large land squids that lay on the tops of trees, disguise their tentacles as vines. preferring to lay on top of trees with more complex branch networks to use as bludgeoning tools when they pull up their pray through the tree. known as the most common aggressive creature of mist vale province thought it more often hunts small creatures like petal birds and gutt punchers.
  • Gutt Punchers: these tiny sized pack critters look quite cute at first glance, and to be honest they are normally harmless, only getting hyper aggressive when cornered or alone. they look similar to marmosets and have similar mannerisms. being gummivores and all that they feed on sap that comes from the trees of the woods. don't get to close unless you have an interest in being ganged upon by them as they all punch you.

Passive Fauna:

  • Whistle Bugs: small autumn green dragon flies that live in wet lands, these creatures have a famous chirp which sounds is like a grass whistle. the locals either love it or hate it, but it has its charms, they also have natural predator of the local bulliwugs who live them and find them as a delicacy.
  • Mug Fish: pale white scaled fish that live in the local Creek-Marsh unfortunatly the population is quite low because of a invasive predator.
  • Clay Crabs: small mud crabs that live ware fresh water is, there appearance is that of a crab but they are completely comeposed of clay from bottom to top and people like to turn them in to ternacota and use them as display peases.
  • Petal birds: birds that pretend to be flowers but openingn they flower like beaks, performing this to lure in bugs to eat.

Flora:

kreep-marsh flora:
because of a large majority of this Province being wet lands plants that thrive in those kinds of areas are just as present here. commons sightings of tall shoots of grass and cats tails are in an abundence over all of the bodys of water within.
Leacher-Wood flora:
Potentialy one of the most famouse trees that exist in Thiralon, called leacher trees by most people but officialy called Opollie trees. theres thin trunked rounded topped trees have a rather grey like bark with a blue sap that turns the wood marbuly. from some part of the tree that is not yet known is emmited a fog that has a sweat smell and a sharp and painful sensation when it enters the nose. inhaling the fog can cause hylisination in any worm blooded humanoide seemingly effecting what they hear, see and feel.
