Herbwitch

Herbwitch is a title given to women with extensive knowledge of local herbs and their healing properties. Most villages have a herbwitch, especially if there is no local druid who could be bothered for the curing of ailments or the treatment of wounds.
As women traditionally are not allowed to become full fleged druids, many herbwitches show an open resentment against druids. This is despite the fact that many learned most of their traits directly from a druid.
Herbwitches are highly regarded in the communities across the Chaukenlande. Within the Isanmannen Empire they are allowed to work without fear of prosecution but are not accepted as medical professionals. The Isanmannen regard their "wild barbarian knowledge" as inferior to that of a proper medicus.
