Description
Forlane is a striking figure, even by Goliath standards. Standing at nearly eight feet tall, he has to duck slightly to avoid hitting his head on the door frames of his own shop. Despite his impressive height and the muscular build typical of his race, there's a gentleness to his demeanor that immediately puts customers at ease. His skin is a pale gray, marked with intricate geometric tattoos that snake up his arms and peek out from the collar of his shirt - remnants, perhaps, of a more traditional Goliath upbringing. His long black hair is usually tied back in a messy ponytail, with a few strands perpetually escaping to frame his face. What truly sets Forlane apart, however, are his eyes. Behind thick-rimmed glasses (a rare sight for a Goliath), his eyes shine with an intense intelligence and childlike wonder. They dart constantly around the shop, taking in every detail of the games being played and the strategies being employed. He typically wears comfortable, practical clothing - often a t-shirt with a witty slogan or gaming reference, and a vest with numerous pockets filled with dice, miniatures, and other gaming paraphernalia. Around his neck hangs a medallion shaped like a twenty-sided die. Forlane's voice is surprisingly soft for his size, but filled with enthusiasm when he speaks about games and strategies. His large hands, calloused from years of mountain climbing in his youth, now move with surprising dexterity as he demonstrates game moves or shuffles cards. Despite his imposing stature, Forlane has a way of making himself seem smaller and less intimidating when dealing with younger customers, crouching down or sitting to be at their eye level. His booming laugh, however, fills the entire shop when something truly amuses him. There's an air of contented incongruity about Forlane - a Goliath who has found his happiness not in feats of strength or great adventures, but in the intricate worlds of strategy and game play. In The Strategy Den, he's created a haven for like-minded individuals, regardless of their size or background.
