Neverwinter Sightseeing & Shopping Report

General Summary

DRIFTWOOD TAVERN
  • Currently late in the evening, Lysander Nenuial has found himself surrounded by taven guards after frustrating an elven patron but then Madame Rosene who had requested he leave the tavern. Having just visciously mocked Rosene, the tavern guards have wound up surrounding Lysander wondering what he had done to Rosene.
  • Lysander tries to persuade Rosene that he was simply frustrated by the elf who yelled at him to leave and then things got a bit out of hand. He apologizes and, though Rosene remains frustrated, things get settled down in due time. She does state clearly, however, that she would prefer Lysander not stay at her inn. He agrees and leaves the tavern to sleep elsewhere in the town.
  • The rest of the party, now worn out from all of the evening's excitement, make their rest.
  • In the morning as the party comes out to have their breakfast, a paper boy enters the tavern trying to sell the morning's Neverwinter Nights paper.
  • Seeing that many seem surprised by the front page of the news, Nyx Ningel decides to purchase a copy. Along with a lot of random news about the goings on in the city, the front page reports that "another missing person" has hit the city. This time, it was an eccentric alchemist named Eldrin Quill who was last seen in the Blacklake District. From the news, it appears that there has been a growing situation of people going missing around the town in recent weeks.
  • At this point, the party decides to head out into the city for a few errands. The first stop winds up being the Sage's Shop farther north in the Blacklake District.

  •   THE SAGE'S SHOP
  • Upon arrival at the shop, some other patrons are present and Bradda The Sage welcomes the group to her shop.
  • Looking around the shop, Nyx notices a book called The Blacklake Prophecies. In it are acollection of fragmented writings from various sources, compiled by an unknown author. The pages seem to shift when not directly observed, sometimes revealing new text. The prophecies are very cryptic and do not seem to make sense.
  • Dakari Akinjide checks out a gnarled and twisted staff of dark wood that has a surface etched with strange symbols that shift when unobserved. He is able to tell it was used by druids but nothing really else.
  • Miramenor Starsinger uses the time to identify the items he took from Ondi Naya's Hut. Bradda charges 5GP for a small cauldron and disc but 10GP for the odd baby's feet. Miramenor learns that the cauldron can give answers to questions if it is filled with swamp water. The disc can fly around a room and display odd, flickering lights. More importantly, however, is that the baby's feet are incredibly unique in that if you bite off a toe and throw it, it can teleport a person up to 30'. Bradda winds up offering him 100GP for the baby's feet but he declines.
  • Miramenor also decides to check out a green ended staff. It is a charred blackened staff that always feels warm to the touch. Faint ember-like veins pulse along its surface. The staff occasionally releases wisps of smoke, even when nothing burns nearby. Sage warns that dreams of fire follow those who wield it too long. Liking the staff, he winds up purchasing it from Bradda.
  • As the others sort of hover around the shop, Bradda makes a few flirty gestures and comments towards donaar ironhide. Though a dragonborn, he is a bit surprised and embarrassed by the attention.
  • Bradda then asks Nyx for some help if she is willing. She explains that a mysterious patron visited recently who mentioned "raising the eternal blaze." He wanted to purchase some specific scrolls but, not trusting the man, chose to decline. Since then, strange scorch marks have appeared on the shop’s walls each morning. Using both her knowledge of arcana and history, Nyx is able to deduce that the marks are some type of ancient runes related to Netherese worshippers. However, she is not able to deduce the meaning of the runes.
  • Nyx winds up looking at another book in the shop. It is a thin volume bound in midnight-blue cloth, its title etched in silver. The pages are mostly blank, except for a few names that appear and fade at random. One name, Malachar, appears more frequently but nothing else is clear about the book.
  • At this point, the party decides to head to the Seven Sons Coster Market to see if they can take care of any other goods.

  •   SEVEN SONS COSTER MARKET
  • Upon arrival, they discover there are sellers related to weapons, armor, jewelry, potions and other related items.
  • Dakari wants Lightbringer restored and Slade Hackman agrees that he can get this done. However, he also notes that the restoration might hinder overall value since it will not be in its original form. Dakari decides to keep it as is.
  • Both Dakari and Donaar decide to sell off a few extra items while here.
