Velkynvulfs

An outpost formerly controlled by drow loyal to Menzoberranzan, currently occupied by forces allied with Gauntlgrym. The base currently has no official commander, being administered by a coalition of individuals from certain secret societies of the Sword Coast.   After having escaped from the outpost months ago, Jaaski and her party returned with an expeditionary force, crushing the outpost in a single night and capturing it for their own use.  While still not completely rebuilt, arrangements are being made to secure supply convoys and fortifications.

Demographics

13 unspecified individuals
8 humans
7 deep gnomes
4 drow; 3 scouts and 1 elite warrior (all imprisoned)
3 quaggoths
1 gelatinous cube (not counted in population)   The base also currently holds 4 prisoners (mentioned above).

Government

Velkynvulfs has no official government, currently being led by a group of four; one from each of the societies that comprised the Wolf Pack expeditionary force.  The veterans of the Order of the Gauntlet act to keep order, and each of the other societies oversee an aspect of the base's daily activities (food/water collection and scouting for the Emerald Enclave, political allegiances with other settlements for the Lords' Alliance, and trade agreements for the Zhentarim).

Defences

Several of the large stalactites have been hollowed out for use as guard towers. Additionally, the bridges and cave branches can be used as chokepoints in the event of an attack.   The demon attack has damaged the southern bridges, and caused a small cave-in, blocking the southern exit. This makes the base slightly easier to focus defenses around, but more difficult to resupply.  Its current residents are undertaking a project to clear the cave-in, but rig the tunnel to cave in again as emergency defensive measures.

Industry & Trade

Before its capture, the base was a staging point for the slave trade of Menzoberranzan. It is currently in the process of securing trade deals of its own, though nothing official is in place yet.   Its most important function is to keep an ear to the ground about the goings-on in the City of Spiders, and as soon as they can get a moderately-talented spellcaster to make their home there permanently, they will be able to link up their lines of supply and information with Gauntlgrym via their teleportation circle.

Infrastructure

A number of bridges and simple elevators have been built to facilitate easy travel and collection of materials. Organic waste is given to the base's gelatinous cube, where it is dissolved.   One of the bridges was destroyed during the Battle of Velkynvelve, and is currently being repaired.

Assets

Upon its capture, the majority of the supplies of the Wolf Pack expeditionary force were transferred to the base along with the members that would garrison it.  The base is thus well-stocked with extra rations and a decent treasury.   Apart from each of the Wolf Pack's individual gear, the armory is modestly stocked with quality equipment given in gratitude by the Steel Guard of Gracklstugh.  While not limitless, their gear is more than enough to arm its residents and allow them to train.

Guilds and Factions

Four of Faerun's secret societies have members that reside here: the Order of the Gauntlet, the Emerald Enclave, the Lords' Alliance, and the Zhentarim.

Architecture

The enclosed areas are either set into small caves, or within giant stalactites that have been hollowed out for inhabitation.

Natural Resources

The base is situated in a large, damp cavern above a waterfall; this allows them fresh water and a moist climate that encourages fungal growth. Edible mushrooms are harvested regularly, but not so often that they cannot produce spores that grow new mushrooms.
