The Silver Tower

Purpose / Function

The Silver Tower and Ars Silica predate even the Si'ylan empire and its true purpose is known perhaps only to its masters. The spire itself can be seen from anywhere in the city, dominating the sky. Rumors say that the Ascended master of the city claims ownership of the spirit of the Tower itself, molding it to shape their will, and many have seen Syvriak the Steelblood King creating openings, hallways, and even stairs within the mercurial tower with a wave of his hand.
The tower is a fortress unto itself. Over a hundred stories high and with a base that stretches larger than any of the mansion's entire courtyards, even those privileged to enter the Silver Tower have only seen a small fraction of it. The first floors contain what remains of the Archmage's personal library, including tomes that hold knowledge lost since the fall of Lost Si'yla, but the upper floors include armories, as well as the controls to the many automated defenses the Archmage built during the Ascendancy War. When it storms, lightning can often be seen striking the Silver Tower.

Architecture

Sleek, smooth, and almost alien, the designs of Lost Si'yla favor smooth construction with no visible seams, as if the Silver Tower were cast from a single vein of perfect silver.
