The Arcanum

Purpose / Function

Long ago, when the Archmage was studying the Silver Tower, they built the Arcanum as their personal home. While the Silver Tower was beyond even Ancient Si'yla in its majesty and grandeur, records say the Arcanum was a rather modest place, being only twenty stories and only magically magnified to be three times larger inside than it was outside. The few writings on the Archmage that remain say they were reclusive and uninterested in luxury, leading to a laboratory that was practical above all else.
Since the Ascendancy War, the Arcanium has been a center of magical learning in Ars Silica. Artificers, sorcerers, and wizards are trained within, their powers honed towards the tasks of keeping the city intact.

Alterations

Much of the tower was damaged in the Ascendancy War and has been repaired over the years. The effect of lesser mages repairing the Archmage's work has given the tower a patchwork look.
