Personal history

Rovana Karvo was born in the slums of Beline, and was abandoned soon after birth, whether out of convenience, need, or death. She grew up begging for the orphanage where she lived. Unfortunately, the orphanage was forced to release her when she turned fourteen. She began working a low-paying job in a seedy tavern of ill repute. At some point, she was forced into providing other services by her employer for traveling merchants and adventurers in need of companionship. When the Seekers arrived at his establishment, her employer attempted to hide her. This did not end well for him.
Rovana excelled in her trials, though many members of the church, and the inquisition in particular, were unhappy with her selection. She gave birth to John, the son of one of those merchants or adventurers, with the help of Triune XXIV, who had previously been a midwife. She continued to raise her son and passed the trials. Triune XXIV was laid to rest not long after, and Rovana was recognized as Triune XXV.
Rovana's tenure was marked by a number of reforms, continuing to emphasize the charitable activities and the peacemaking ability of the church.
Rovana was apparently murdered alongside high-ranking seers and a Preterine, apparently by orcish assassins from Kalorin. This lead to the war known colloquially as Karvo's crusade, as Lord Commander John Karvo used his position to seek out vengeance.

Education

Over the course of completing her trials, Karvo was educated by each of the Nine Paths, graduating top of her class from the seminary of the priesthood and later receiving a degree of Doctor of Theology from the Theological Society.

At the time Rovana Karvo was found and called as Preterine by the Seekers, she was already pregnant with her son, John, though she didn't know it at the time. She raised John with the support and assistance of the church while she progressed through her trials.
