Edele Padwyn

Edele Padwyn is the formidable Duchess of Ostralm, the western most third of Summerlund. She was the first wife of Hadyn Thonwyr, the previous king of Summerlund. When their marriage failed to produce issue, he divorced her, leaving her, instead, the rich lands of Ostralm as a parting gift between them.
She was known to be rather critical of the King and to oppose his offspring taking the throne. Once Hadyn passed, many believed that she would eventually make a play for rulership of Summerlund on the grounds that, as Queen, she should not have been put aside. Manty worried about how such a civil war would affect the fortunes of Summerlund. To their surprise, however, after the Battle of Worldbreaker's Howe  , she threw support behind the suit of King Tristan Holdfast Tarmoore (whose identity she had already uncovered through her researches.) In exchange, however, her duchy became the Grand Duchy of Osterlund Overview, a hereditary position.
She is married to Ezelan Havengard, now Ducal Consort. They have a son, Anathar Padwyn, who is heir to Osterlund. It is rumored that they sought aid from the Arch-Fey Zybilna to help Edele have the child despite her advanced age.
