Shinra Deadvine
(a.k.a. Daughter of Ridentu)
Overview
Shinra Deadvine is an ancient dragon and a once prominent figure of the original House of Flowers. Her existence has long since been forgotten by most, along with the ancient city she protected at the base the Pearl Sanctuary. She is a Daughter of Ridentu, currently an unknown entity.
History
Shinra, a guardian dragon of the House of Flowers, has been devoted to enforcing the House's will for many hundreds of years. She once lived in the city by Flower Head Keep. According to Shinra, a sky island fell atop the city, trapping her there. The then buried city fell into myth, very few even knowing of its possible existence until the Silvergrass Agents of The House of Grass were able to gain access.
Role and Allegiance
Shinra serves the House of Flowers, accepting commands from the leader, the Flower Head. The person who once held this seat is believed to be the giant Saffronia. Saffronia's body, still remarkably preserved by unknown magics, lies in the Flower Head Keep, located along the edge of the buried ancient city.
The Dragon Guardian
Shinra is a Smoke Dragon and a guardian of the ancient buried city. Having fulfilled a thousand years of guardianship, she was released from the city by Calytrix and the Silvergrass Agents of the House Grass. Calytrix, although not the leader of the House of Flowers, succeeded in convincing the dragon of her mastery and rule over the Flower Head. The dragon, currently out of practice, is unable to assume a humanoid form but possesses the ability to transform into a swirl of grey smoke at will.
Personality
Deeply focused on her mission, Shinra refused any attempt to engage her in entertainments, like drinking or cards. Merely stating "I do not play games, I protect, I slay, I serve. Perhaps when the House of Flowers rules Toivoa, then I may play."
Current Endeavors
In the present day, Shinra has left the ancient city. Her exact whereabouts are unknown but she roams the lands of Toivoa, seeking knowledge and understanding of the changes that have transpired during her millennium-long vigil over the ruins.
Quotes
"You are right the world has changed. There was a time when I would rise and the people would cower before me. Now they do not."
"I serve the House of Flowers. I am Shinra Deadvine....and I have risen."
Rumors and Suppositions
Shinra asked who protected the Sanctuary and expressed confusion when told there was none. "How is it that the House of Flowers is not assaulted from on high if it is not guarded by an Elder Dragon?" Somewhere they the guardian lay in wait, I will not challenge him or her."
Shinra emphasized many times that she enforced the will of the House of Flowers. Unsure of how the dragon would react, Calytrix of The House of Grass, did not directly reveal the split of the House of Flowers. Instead Calytrix expressed that change is a part of nature and encouraged the dragon to observe discretely and come to her own conclusions.
The holy soup of Usil, only every offered to their legendary Solar dragon, was offered to Shinra and she accepted. This consumption caused her eyes to flare gold with radiant light. The Agents of Silvergrass are unsure of what other side effects could come from an Ancient Smoke Dragon consuming a divine soup.
It was believed by Gallio that the ancient city was called "The Spire of Dahaen" but the Silvergrass Agents were unable to verify this.
