Shaeckern "Shakes" Boerth, Half-elf Rogue
Raised by his human mother in the slums, Shakes was the subject of lots of bullying. This gave him an uncanny ability to read people’s motives and react quickly. As a byproduct, paranoia became his calling card. His knack for talking his way out of trouble earned him the interest of the local thieves guild. His lack of ambition kept him at entry level work.
He was present when the guildmaster was attacked, but froze up when he could have saved the day by just handing over his dagger. As a result, the guildmaster was terribly wounded and Shakes was run out of town.
In combat, Shakes will only attack if he has sneak attack or advantage. Any other direct combat requires him to make a Wis save first. If there is an opportunity to flee with treasures worth more than 100g he must make a Wis save the first round, and every round he takes damage.
Shakes is of average build, with a dirty blonde shaggy bowl cut that he keeps tied back with a brown piece of cloth. He is proficient with thieves tools and tinkers tools. But can only disassemble with tinker tools. He cannot read, but can write his name with a stick. While wandering between towns, he found a dead traveler and looted his padded armor and short sword to blend in on the road.
In a group setting, he will assess who is the physically strongest member of the party and try to become that person’s toadie.
