Mariners

Mariners are a native subclass of warforged originated in Gabbon City. Built for the rigors of the sea, these constructs take great pride in their dedication to completing each voyage and finding the shortest or fastest route possible. Known for their bluntness and pure focus on utilitarianism, other races are rarely tolerant of their company for long. Mariners are easily identified by the gaff hook in place where their left hand would be. Their bodies strong and lithe, most Mariners stand just 6 feet tall, weighing 250-300lbs. Built for purpose, they are steady and skilled on a ship and typically serve 15-20 years under contract to the parent company. By that time, newer models have been phased in and they are permitted to seek an independent life. Mariners are functionally a 'medium skirmisher' sub-race, +1 Con +2 Dex. Attacks with the gaff hook are at +1 Att doing 1D4 Damage and cannot be disarmed. Base AC is 13 + Dex modifier, they cannot wear normal armor but may benefit from other magical items for defense.
