Pet Reanimator

Perception

Purpose

Reanimators are there for when the vet can do no more. If the owner requests, a Reanimator will step in as the animal dies, bringing the pet or familiar back to life as soon as possible. Alternatively, Reanimators will be asked to bring back long-dead animals, those who have already become nothing more than skeletons.

Operations

Workplace

Reanimators often work side-by-side with vets in the same office.

Provided Services

Reanimation of the recently-departed - bringing back those who have died before decay sets in.    Reanimation of the long-departed - bringing back those who have been dead for years and all remain as a skeleton.    Patchwork reanimation - bringing back the decaying by use of other body parts to replace those which would only cause chronic pain, or to replace those lost in accidents.

Dangers & Hazards

Some debate the purity of the souls belonging to the Warlocks who reanimate creatures, as well as those belonging to the reanimated. There are sometimes protests around any practice involving the undead, some occasionally turn violent, though it is rare.

Legality

Until recently, reanimating pets and familiars was, technically, legal, as the law banning reanimation within the US was worded so that only reanimation of 'sapient beings' was illegal. Since the law was reworded two years ago, making reanimation illegal in all forms within the US, Warlocks, sympathisers and pet owners across the continent have been protesting in an attempt to reverse the changes. This alteration of law is considered to be a rollback on the rights of Warlocks and has elicited a strong reaction from the American people as well as a large number of people from across the globe.   However, since reanimation of pets and familiars is still legal within a number of other countries, and owning a reanimated creature is legal within the US if one has the correct licence, the change of laws has not stopped the trade in reanimation.
