Courier Ravens

Creation

The Courier ravens are unique beings created by Nyr'tak herself within the depths of the nexus. Here she weaves her vat knowledge and ambient entities to bring these creatures into existence. Through her mastery of ancient arts Nyr'tak imbues the ravens crystalline forms with unique abilities, shaping them into sentient messengers of information. Upon the creation of each raven, they possess an inherent connection to Nyr'tak and the nexus allowing the exchange of information on a near instantaneous basis.

Anatomy and Morphology

These manufactured ravens bear a striking resemblance to their mundane counterparts with sleek midnight feathers and a graceful form. Their beaks are composed of iridescent blue crystal, intricately shaped and embellished with delicate golden accents which match their similarly adorned chests and wing feathers. This crystal incorporation allows them to channel energy from the nexus directly for the manifestation of their abilities.

Powers and Abilities

The ravens possess four bestowed abilities aside from their sentience and immense intelligence:

1. Teleportation - The ravens possess the extraordinary ability to teleport through the fragile boundaries between realms, allowing them to seamlessly navigate interdimensional spaces and traverse celestial currents with ease. This greatly assists with their retrieval of knowledge and artifacts from the most far reaching and diverse worlds
2. Enhanced Strength - Enables these creatures to carry relics, tomes, and other valuable artifacts back to the Nyr'taks’ Sanctum of Echoes within the Nexus.
3. Telepathic communication - The couriers can communicate telepathically with almost any species. This communication can take many forms either as direct language or the exchange of images, emotions and impressions which can help facilitate the communication between Nyr'tak and others.
4. Shadowmelding - Nyr'tak bestows her ravens with the unique and seamless gift of "Shadowmelding". This extraordinary ability allows them to merge effortlessly with any shadow, whether it is cast by an object or living organism. Through this ability, the ravens can avoid unwanted observation or detection, enabling them to silently observe and record information about their surroundings.
