Audhil
Chräya was dismissed from his position as Audhil yesterday. He won't say why, but I suspect he's been framed for something. He's done everything right up till now, and has been the most devoted of all of us to helping those in need. How could he have done something so wrong as to justify him being removed? An audhil is a senior position within the Church of Balance. Their duty, in all things, is to uphold divine balance and ensure order in their local communities.
Appointment
In order to become an audhil, one must first be a member of a congregation within the Church of Balance. After the local audhils and riishaleyans deem you to be an outstanding member of your community, you can then be brought into the priesthood. From there, upon the death or dismissal of the audhil of your church, you may be elected to the position by your fellow riishaleyan, and confirmed by a glinaudhil. You will only be eligible to become audhil if you have served as a riishaleyan for 5 years.Duties
The audhil is in charge of running their individual churches, organising and employing riishaleyan, as well as regularly talking to the audhils of other churches in the area. This naturally involves a lot of administrative work, but audhils are not entirely removed from the community. Rather, much of their work is based on talking to members of their community, even those not within the church, and determining what changes are needed in their lives to bring balance and order. They are then encouraged to do whatever possible to ensure these needs are met, within the limits of their low position within the Church. This usually manifests in the form of delivering food to the starving and providing shelter for those without.Advancement
Most audhils remain in their position for many years, with some known to have been audhil for nearly their entire adult lives. Some have more ambition than that, and seek to obtain the role of glinaudhil. The amount of glinaudhils varies depending on region, but typically new glinaudhils are only appointed after a pre-existing one has stepped down, been otherwise promoted, or died. To become a glinaudhil, an audhil needs to have been in their position for a minimum of 10 years, though a rare few have been promoted before that. They must then submit themselves to the remaining glinaudhils, who will vote amongst themselves as to whether they believe they are worthy.Diinöxingan

Dismissal
Being fired from the position of audhil is fairly rare - most who take the position resign due to old age, are promoted, or die. However, it is not impossible. Some of simply dismissed for inappropriate behaviour by their superiors, especially if their actions cause complaint amongst the priesthood and congregation. Some have been removed due to commiting actual crimes in the countries in which they practice, ranging from tax evasion to murder.Others have been stripped of garments and excommunicated for worshipping 'false gods', such as the sun deity commonly worshipped in the north, but not in central Thurásin.
