Bubofen

Bubofen is an ancient and vast marsh into which few venture.

It is inhabited by many creatures, many hostile and is criss crossed by numerous trails which twist and turn in all directions. It is said that an evil fog hides the sky there and no-one can set a course by the stars. Within the swamp even compasses become unreliable. In recent years it was claimed by a group of wizards calling themselves the Masters, yet it has never been under anyone's control and still isn't.

To the east of Bubofen lie the wretched village of Dree. Some say the worse of the hags are exiled from the village and make their home in the fens. Others claim people often leave the babies with deformities in the swamps, hoping the witches claim them. Tales are often stories, but what is consistent about such tales are those that mention the swamp contains numerous rare herbs that could not be found anywhere else in Allansia. However, the fog makes locating these herbs for herbalists challenging to near impossible.
