Uuowouu James (he/him)
Uuowouu James is the tavern owner of The Swirly Snail, a tavern in the village of
Fletcher. He is a gastrosapien (
Gastrosapiens) man who can speak Common but refuses to so he doesn't have to deal with people. He is 5'7" (170 cm) tall, and only responds in odd grunts. If pressed to actually talk to someone, he will actively walk away and hide in the back room of the tavern. When the party spoke with Harlowe, she told them that Uuowouu actually came from
The Redwillow Forest and doesn't like it when people speak bad about the forest. The DM Keiran (she/they) also said that he came out of the forest, made sapient by the magic of the forest, and fell in love with Harlowe at first sight.
Gastrosapiens
Harlowe James (she/her)
Harlowe James is the wife of Uuowouu and the waitress and co-owner of the tavern The Swirly Snail. She is an eccentric human woman with dark brown hair piled on her head in a messy, spiky bun. She has pale skin scattered with freckles and is 6'0" (183 cm) tall. She loves to deal with people even if they think she's a bit strange, and she's a rambling talker with a country accent. It's worth noting that she carved the sign outside of the Swirly Snail Tavern, and the "I" is dotted with a carved heart.
Finn Arcaid (he/him)
Finn Arcaid is one of two guards of
Fletcher. He's a human man with curly black hair pulled back into a low ponytail. He has dark brown eyes, dark skin, and is 5'10". He's not from Fletcher or anywhere near the Redwillow Forest, and he expresses how he didn't believe the rumors initially about how haunted it actually is. Despite this, he has seen some things that made him wary of it, and he never wants to enter it. He's also been told that the official of the village, Amie, has went to the Baron to request more guards for the town of Fletcher to investigate the mystery.
Amie Boroughan (she/her)
Amie Boroughan is a halfling and the government official in the village of Fletcher. She doesn't do much there because there isn't much to do, and she lives on the outskirts of town. Her main responsibility as the village official is to collect taxes, handle any complaints or issues the town may have with the baron, and she often heads to the baron's estate for extended periods of time. In Whispers of Redwillow, she's been called back to the baron's estate to discuss getting more guards for investigating the Fletcher situation but it's slow going and she hasn't returned when the party gets there.
Baron Everett Miran (he/they)
Baron Everett Miran is half wood elf and half protector aasimar. He is a lower noble that technically owns the village of Fletcher. He's a more benevolent noble over his villages than some of the lower nobles, and is well-loved by the locals of Fletcher in particular. He has dark, copperish skin, pupil-less golden eyes, and dark brown hair with hints of golden blonde throughout. He's 5'11" (180 cm) and typically dressed nicely, but not so overdressed for the area he lives in. He lives in the center of the land that he owns and presides over many villages and towns in the area.
Geo Rowan (she/they)
Geo Rowan is the other local guard of Fletcher; she grew up in the village. She's an earth genasi woman with skin that looks like polished onyx and fissures of pyrite that spread throughout. She has short, curly black hair pulled back with pins away from her face, and she has black eyes. She's 5'8" (172 cm) tall and has an irritable temperament, especially when she's just gotten onto a shift or is trying to get on her shift and is stopped from doing so.
Rhythm on the Wind - Rhythm (she/her)
Rhythm is a long-hair calico tabaxi woman, about 34 years old, and 5'5" (165 cm) tall. She's lithe and carries a banjo on her back. The party encounters her in the tavern where she's refusing to eat the meat offered to her because she says it smells bad.
Sigh (they/them)
Sigh is an air genasi person from another town who appears to be exceptionally nervous while passing through the streets. They have light blue skin, white hair pulled back into a low, loose ponytail, and pale blue eyes. They are convinced by the party to head back towards the tavern and stay in town for breakfast despite not initially wanting to.
Phus Rodah (he/him)
Phus is a blue chromatic dragonborn and is the butcher of village of Fletcher. He is 6'4" (193 cm tall) and is commonly seen wearing a bloody apron and holding a meat cleaver. He has a low pitched, country accented voice. He both lives and works at The Butcher Shop in Fletcher.
Verran Baird (she/her)
Verran is about 5'7" (170 cm) tall, has dark brown hair slicked back into a ponytail, tanned skin, and green eyes. She has scars on the right side of her faceBaird that resemble claw marks. She's flighty and has a magic ability to summon magic wolves. She wasn't very conducive to questioning, but when intimidated, she answered the questions asked of her. She lives in the Redwillow Forest. She shows up again later in the arc as one of the enemies in The Cottage, and is killed by a fall down stairs initiated by Eman (see:
Shalis Kerny Laurence Emanuel).
Guy West (he/him)
Guy is found about to hurt a changeling person in the basement of the cottage. Guy is 6'7", a brute of a man, and doesn't appear to be very smart. He has the ability to go into a rage and shift into a wolf-like beast. He is very up front when asked questions but still mocking, and is killed by
Cadence Loch after being questioned.
Vex (she/they)
Vex is a changeling person that is 5'3" tall, completely devoid of color, and has long wavy hair that's slicked back. They are a bard who was shot and kidnapped by Verran and brought back to Guy to be butchered. She is rescued by the party of Arc 1, tells them about the changeling village she's from deeper into the Redwillow Forest, and proceeds to let the forest lead her back home through it.
