Shalis Kerny Laurence Emanuel
Shalis Kerny Laurence Emanuel (any pronouns), also known as SKLE or Eman, is a character played by Miandra (she/her) in Arc 1: Whispers of Redwillow.
Description
SKLE is a failed experiment skeleton that hides his skeleton body and face with various articles of clothing he has stolen. His skull is covered with a bronze mask of a skull and a "wizard hat" that's a dunce cap poked through a straw farmer's hat. He wears multiple layers of clothing to bulk up his physique. His "backpack" that he carries things in is actually the cavity of his ribcage. He'd removed a couple of ribs in order to fit everything in there. SKLE is a level 3 divination wizard.Backstory
SKLE's first experience with his life was sitting up amongst a pile of boulders and rubble, looking up at a mountainside covered in multicolored flames, somehow knowing he was responsible. They picked up the lightly singed dagger and spellbook beside him and ran into the Redwillow Forest. During the coming days, SKLE resolved that magic was the path to finding how he was created and avoiding the catastrophic results through supreme divination. Three months of aimless wandering, surviving many creatures and perils of the forest through wit, premonition, and a strange unknown power within him, he finally left the forest, finding his first taste of civilization beyond a few huddled cabins. This exit brought them into the path of Azriel Presch, spurring their joint adventures in Arc 1: Whispers of Redwillow. In the aftermath, wrestling with a fight between his powerful darker nature, SKLE journeyed east, away from his pastDuring Arc 1
SKLE spends most of the arc battling between a former self he doesn't remember and the person he wants to be. He often shows glimpses of his past self in stressful situations where he gets angry, such as with Verran Baird (see: Whispers of Redwillow NPCs) when she tried to run away. He's consistently fighting murderous urges that he doesn't seem to understand. These glimpses of a previous self happened also when he kicked the Altered Gibbering Mouther 's corpse and muttered "failed experiment" at it. He also had a memory of the beginnings of his death and the subsequent change into a skeleton, an experiment that went disastrously wrong because of his own mistakes. At the end of Arc 1, he walks away from his past and as far away from the catalysts of murderous tendencies as he can, heading far east.Secret SKLE Lore

- The person SKLE was when he wasn't a human was not a good person. If anything, he was the Big Bad Evil Guy of another party.
- SKLE's past life went into hiding after they defeated a particularly strong hero who valiantly lost their life to try and vanquish this great evil. It's likely the rest of the hero's party was there when it happened.
- SKLE's past life is partially responsible for the current state of the Redwillow Forest, releasing "failed experiments" into the woods when they no longer served him well.
- SKLE's names (Shalis, Kerny, Laurence, Emanuel) are all the last names of his former lieutenants. It's unknown if they're alive or continued villainy after his death.
