"Mad" Katya
"Mad" Katya (she/her) is a character played by Cole (they/them) in A Crown for Tickles. She is a tabaxi armorer artificer with the soldier background.
Description
Katya is 3 feet tall and has short gray fur with white tips and splotches, bright blue eyes, and a head full of black hair styled into a medium-length bob. When unarmored (which is rarely) she wears elegant, loose dresses cut from the finest fabric she can afford that month. She's usually seen wearing her 8 foot tall bulky suit of powered steel armor, styled with red dark red accents, a mechanical spiked tail, massive thunder gauntlets, and a full helm with an opaque yellow visor. Katya is the walking equivalent of a drum full of hornets, if hornets were explosive and even angrier. She plays it cool but is prone to violent outbursts, especially when her competency or physical capabilities (especially stature) are called into question. She prefers the direct, forceful approach in problem solving and in communication.Backstory
Coming from humble origins, her knack for mechanics and general lack of regard for the safety of others led to her employ as a siege engineer in a mercenary company. War turned out to be dangerous business though, and the worker's comp was nothing to write home about. Once she got out of that life she was drawn towards the steadier rhythm of organized crime. She kicked off her criminal career maintaining munitions for Patrick the Cat Trick, but she yearned to be back in on the action herself. Unfortunately her short stature and frail frame precluded her rolling with the muscle, and Patty's goons reminded her about this on the regular. Furious at their mocking and fed up with the desk job, Katya abandoned her post. Nobody really noticed that she was gone, but everybody tended to look right over and past her anyway... and she wasn't exactly employee of the month to begin with. After a few strategic acts of architectural sabotage and some carefully allocated bribes, she elbowed her way into an apprenticeship under a firebrand (and similarly unscrupulous) armorer and mechanic, Phibius Glimmer. Katya had finally channeled her engineering talents to become a force to be reckoned with. With a custom-rigged suit of mechanized armor capable of backing up her fulminating temper, Katya swore to make Patty's crew regret ever doubting her capacity for destruction. And what better way than to sign up with his greatest rival, Tickles McGee? At least he lets her kick in some doors and offers a little upward mobility.Trivia
