Humans
Mont
The most prominent humans in the world, from the western and central regions of the continent. They are proud, strong willed folk they made up the backbone of the old Kingdom of Poitiers, in fact most of the noble families and people of influence tend to be Mont humans. Once the kingdom fell the Mont began mixing with halflings, gnomes and other races that migrated to their protective cities. Across the world many other races treat them like their own whether out of kinship or pity.
Schärn
These hardy northern humans reside between the realms of men, orcs and jotnar. They have grown to be great warriors and incredibly stubborn, some of say they are dwarves that grew into humans. The Schärn were some of the greatest soldiers, knights and generals within the old kingdom, now they hold the mountain passes agains the marauding orcs and jotnar raiders. Other races respect their prowess but find it difficult to deal with them and their general xenophobic attitudes.
Považšov
Living in the eastern realms of man these humans live closest to the elvish Riochts and as such have come into conflict with them many times. The Považšov are generally viewed as anti-social and strange even amongst their fellow humans, these people are well known for their mastery of horsemanship and building grand castles. They are often considered the most in touch with nature and the fey, they have embraced magic more than their neighbouring kin and often employ mages into advisory roles and positions of power.
Nisab
The southern most humans residing beyond the desert in vast cities along the coastline, their tanned skin, dark hair, flambouyant robes and head scarfs make them stand out much more than other humans. Having seperated themselves from their northern kin the Nisab of the Fawiyyah Emirate focused on creating relations with the high elves of Illamel Riocht, developing a well established sea trade network shipping spices, metal ores, fabrics and elabourately crafted household goods. They have built a reputation for being charismatic and intelligent, having developed some wonderous technologies and magical items.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Humans reproduce fast and often families will have multiple children due to the demanding lives that humans live and the need for more hands to help in the fields, quarries, cities and seas. With a short 9 month gestation period that allows humans to get pregnant twice within a year has meant that they are the most populous race in all of Tír Suaimhnis, coupled with the fact that they are genetically compatible with almost all other races in the world, which has birthed many hybrid races such as half-elves, half-orcs, half-dwarves and half-jotnar.
Growth Rate & Stages
With an 80-100 year lifespan humans on average mature at around 18-20 years with their adolescent years ranging from 12-18. Throughout the years of 20-35 is when humans are considered in their prime.
Ecology and Habitats
Humans are a race that can inhabit pretty much any environment they are highly adaptable and find it easy to settle in the harshest of locations which is why their is such a diverse blend of ethnicities in humans.
