Animiri
The Animiri are a giant species of winged beings. Their physically imposing and have the ability to fly, but do not as a rule as they see flying as a primitive method of transportation. Their society is very technologically advanced, creating a system of portal devices to assist in traveling the world. Their inherent magic is rooted in creation, however, more in the scientific sides of creation and experimentation.
Basic Information
Anatomy

Genetics and Reproduction
Once a year they hold a mating feast when the food is most plentiful in the spring. There, in the high moutain peaks, the eligable males fight for the eligable females. It would be a mash up of Londons "society balls" and fight club. The women are dressed in their finest clothing and most attractive features on display, while the males fight for first dibs on the female.
Arranged matches are only reserved for Royal lines.
Mating happens the moment the fight is won, with the male taking the female in the ring for all to witness his claim.
After the mating has finished, the couples retreat to their lower moutain homes to begin to care for their chosen mate through gestation, birth, and infancy.
Once these stages have completed, the male leaves the match and enteres into the next season to fight for another female.
Females do not reenter into the season until the child is grown and ascended.
It is this that keeps the Animiri in check to not over breed. This is not a social construct, but a biological imparative.
It is this reason there are so few eligable females each season.

Ecology and Habitats
The Animiri live in the high moutain forests on the continent of Kisan.
The forest below themountain ranges features their cities and houses built to represent the mountain they live under. The region is covered in a layer of ice most of the year, with spring being the only verdant time on the continent.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Animiri are carnivores, and the mountain island is ripe with pleny of animals for their meals. Animiri food system is based on hunter gatherer types. In that each household hunts their own food. Being related to a bird of prey, they are able to hunt easily.
During the spring, when not fighting for a female, the males will fill their cellars with food for the year.
each homes kitchen came equiped with a refrigeated room for meat preservation.
Meat was preserved using the unique properties in the mountains cold springs, that has a preserving quality.
Biological Cycle
Once they reach adulthood, Animiri are immotal so little change happens.
The region is frozen 80% of the time, so there is little change until the spring returns. It is during this time that the verdant forests become lush and vibrant. Fowers and plants blooming in a beatuiful symphony of color. Kisan in the spring is by far the most beautiful sight in all the galaxy.
Once the season has ended the leaves and flowers begin to turn, changing colors from verdant to grey. Color leeching from the world as the cold sets in and another season comes to an end.
Behaviour
Animiri are considered top of the food chain in terms of predators, however there were plenty of dangers that one could face. The larger animals of the island, for example, could crush the bones of an Animiri to dust, this was one of the few things an Animiri could not survive. The other being the swords forged in the daemon world. Though, the Animiri have all but eradicated the species.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Their eyes are much larger than any other species, giving them the ability to see sharper images and more defined images. Their eyes have more sensory cells than any other being, which helps them perceive objects while in flight.
because of their enhanced sight, their magic comes in the form of perception. They have the ability to sense magic, power, ley lines. They can asses and learn any beings specific gifts, energies, and auras.
They can also sense the magic fingerprint of a place once a person has left.

Very little differences in the appearance, aside from facial features, and such. All have pure white skin, silver or white hair, and white feathered wings, unless they are descended from the royal bloodline, then they will black hair and wings.
Conservation Status
The Animiri have strict measures in place to ensure the purity of their race, and have very harsh punishments for any animiri who dares to dilute the blood line. It is this reason why love is not present in this race and most are married for the breeding abilities alone. And usually only for a decade at a time. Then the couple break apart to find their next best mating match.
The Animiri army is the second most powerful in the galaxy. Their warriors are immortal, sort of. The only way to kill an Animiri
