Miscellaneous Magical Objects

Here are some magical objects mentioned in the books! These objects are either made of inherently magical materials (like the fur of a magical beast) or are created with silver, gold, or gems that a spellcrafter has imbued with magic. [Click to learn more about Spellcrafting.]

Small golden beads: beads that help prevent blisters while breaking in new shoes -- Invented by Jac (The Glass Gate)
He wiped his hands clean, and then, picking up my boots, he snapped a small golden bead over each of the bottom laces. “That should help you break them in faster."

Crystals and golden thread to enchant fabric (The Glass Gate)
“Is that what you’re doing now? Charming it against sneezing?” If gold was used to make enchanted objects, it would make sense to use golden thread to enchant clothing.

I sighed and untangled the little dragon, returning the crystals to the horned spellcrafter.

Glamour earrings/rings/necklaces: Earrings or rings that glamour a person to either look like fae or human, depending on what is needed. It is only a visual glamour. “Nope, actual faeries. Like the ones who made the dress you’re wearing.” Amber fished out a pair of earrings and hooked one into her ear.

“Wha—” My jaw dropped as her ear transformed into a long pointed elf ear. She put the other one in and I watched it happen again.

“Cool, right? They’re glamoured to make us look fae, and they have a translation charm that lets us speak and read the languages here.” She dropped a pair of dangly gold earrings into my palm.

“The glamour is only visual. It doesn’t actually change your ears. You make a very smexy fae, though. Let’s party!” - The Glass Gate

The sapphire she held emitted a pulse of blue light, and all the wolves took another stumbling step back. A faint golden shimmer enveloped us like a bubble.
[...]
“Catch!” Aunt Chloe tossed Amber the sapphire, and the shimmering golden bubble traveled with it.

Amber caught the gem neatly and waved it at me. “Follow me!” She took off running, then added over her shoulder, “Stay close so the shield protects us both.”

The golden charging device had a familiar-looking cord on one end. I plugged my phone in and bounced on my toes, waiting as the screen reluctantly flickered to life.
