Liadan's Tower

Carefully hidden away on a small island, Liadan's home is built to be a haven from unwanted guests. While Liadan herself can teleport to her island at will, everyone else has to enter through the Ruined Gate which can only be used if she decides to disasemble her tower to form it. This sounds very distruptive, but when the tower is reformed, everything is just as Liadan left it. Even lit candles and food cooking on the stove awaits her when she returns.

She's never tried the transformation with a living creature inside the tower, but she's willing to experiment if her guests take too long to exit the building.

The tower is entered through a spiral staircase that leads up to a cozy kitchen and sitting room. Her bedroom and bathroom are upstairs. The tower expands as needed, the living area becoming more spacious when multiple guests arrive. When she invites (allows?) Audrey and Gavin to live with her, the tower grows new bedrooms for them as seen by the balconies outside.

From The Books:

The woman snapped her fingers as she walked toward the ruined tower. The rocks strewn about the clearing quivered. At first, I thought it was my imagination, but as she strode up to the arched doorway, they started to roll toward the ruin, losing their moss and mushrooms as they came. The tower built itself from the ground up, growing higher and higher as the stones rolled and leaped into place. Arched windows matching the door appeared, and a small stone balcony formed on the tower’s side, stone by stone.
“Are you coming?” The Cait Sith, standing in the archway, interrupted my gawking. The final stones rolled up into place, creating a peaked roof of slate tiles. She disappeared into the dark tower.

I stood for a moment, stupefied. Then, after a quick look around the unfamiliar forest, I jogged after her. The woman began to climb curved stone steps, a ball of flaming light hovering by her shoulder.

She sniffed, stepping into a warmly lit room at the top of the stairs. I climbed up after her and looked around. The round room held a fireplace, already lit. Perhaps this shouldn’t have been surprising in a tower assembled by magic. Liadan hung a kettle over the fire beside a bubbling cauldron. It smelled like dinner. Perhaps the Cait Sith equivalent of a crock pot?

The room had two arched windows with diamond panes of glass, but no balcony. That must be attached to the room above us. The stairs continued to climb up the curved wall and disappeared into a hole in the ceiling. The Cait Sith sat on a velvet upholstered chair next to a dark wooden table and motioned for me to join her. A matching chair slid out from the table, waiting.

I swallowed and sat. I’d seen bits and pieces of magic up to this point, but this room swam with it in golden floating motes.
