Silas is the twin brother to Derrick, they grew up together in Darkthorn Manor within the city of Duskwood. It always seemed as if he was in his brother's shadow. His education consisted of the normal Darkthorn texts, a variety of history, ten thousand tomes on magic and its applications, and all the tutors and scholars afforded by the vast amounts of wealth the Darkthorn family has accumulated over the years. He was granted a personal magic instructor at the age of 5 to begin honing in his skills. He showed great promise when it came to the arcane arts but paled in comparison to his twin.
Failures & Embarrassments
Whilst not an embarrassment to Silas himself, his relations with a lowborn woman named Silva brought shame to his family name. According to his father the noble bloodline of the Darkthorn family should not be contaminated with such lowly people. This is well known to be taboo within Noble families but Silas claimed he was in love with the woman and wanted to marry her. As a result his father had her banished from Duskwood and sent away. This left a lasting stain on his reputation within the family.
