Time Laws are not that hard to explain in a nutshell, thankfully; though they are quite atrocious to justify as a natural law, when most of the world is fairly normal: gravity, meteorology, they don't strike as supernatural. There aren't that much supernatural species either, though some may be found if thoroughly looked for. Echos, overlaps, noughts, however, sorts of time bugs and errors, and fairly common, and can prove dangerous as they remove one from time. And as much as exploring can be enjoyed, the inability to retire to settle in the "normal" world can be quite upsetting. Though settlements made up of adventurers and nought people exist, there is a constant worry around the idea of overpopulating these small havens of non-flowing time.
