Tajirun

Tajirun is a Trei-Solari Standpoint along the border with the upriver Ilel n'Waman Parliament. As far as dance and music goes, they're excited to tell you about the latest composition of Tabawt Taznag or Yellulin u Zilalsan. They know the rise of the Murabitun so much by heart, every event and every important leader, that they've grown tired of it and prefer revelling in the traditional composition of the Blue People.   Tajirun's mayor, Ziri n-Mennad, is a perfect example of the settlement's potentiel excentricity and atmosphere, though they're much less representative of the local opinions on most matters. Ziri n-Mennad appears as an excited and enthusiast androgyne. They revendicate a queer personnality and gender (though in private, one may learn they're actually a 'he', but it's a political statement). They taint their hair blue and paint their hands and face in intricate patterns once every few weeks. They're an expert singer and know most time-flower Sanhaja songs of their territory. They originally hailed from Skhizdôn, hence their chosen surname (though it absolutely was chosen because it was both a common Tamazigh name and a Greek mythological creature), and they have a particular attention to immigration that would be completely incompatible with many 21st century governments.   While Ziri's excentricities are a part of Tajirun's landscape, they don't bother much most inhabitants. Certainly, many are quite opinionate in favour or against, but Ziri's duties as mayor are more of technical issues. They don't really have a weight or a say in the local politics, don't want it, and they're exceedingly good at keeping the place afloat and running.   Tajirun's political leadership is held by the Council of Ancient. The members are all past adventurers who are expert guides for a section of the territory. Of course, they're all perfectly fluent with the local time stop territory, but they're also known masters of the way of the timeflowing territory around them. While most favour mountain or desert territories, a few specialized in the Atlantic or Mediterranean coast. The Council participates actively in Trei-Solari and the entire Federation's politics, where they ally themselves with different parties and movements depending the question being discussed. They value independance from ideologies though they also favour rigorous application of laws bordering on legalism, and they have been known to vote in no little part on an attention to specific wordings.   Incidentally, Ismail ibn Mohend ibn Francis al-Ghana, a venerable citizen of Tajirun, has been a permanent member of the Federation's legal bureau for twelve years.   Tajirun's last founding was seven hundred years ago, by a woman named Tin Ichennan, who was a time-flow camel rider and conquered the settlement with an army that she made cross the waters.
