Personal history

Posthum son of a great knight, Geoffroy Plantagenet, and of the beautiful Constance of Brittany, he never knew his father, but he admired him early, hearing so many tales of the daring horseman from everyone around him. He was first raised by his loving mother, nearly forgotten from king Henry II of England and his uncle Richard the Lionheart, for he was no threat to them. Even, Richard named him his heir, which allowed him to claim authority above Brittany, while he himself already ruled Normandy. He had the young boy pledge loyalty to him.   When Philippe, king of France, came back from crusades, however, he started taking a new interest in the boy and the mother. She, motherqueen, named John king. But, nobles in the north part of the continental Plantagenet empire were upset by this and much prefered Constance and her son : Arthur stepped up and allied with Philippe, following to the word knight codes and France ancestral suzerainship other his dukedom. Though still young, he immediately started working with both war and peace in mind, chosing bichops and other dignities for people he and his counsellors - his mother and his father's friend - found worthy.   He went to further his education at France's court again, and stayed there two years. When war broke, he went; but, unlucky and still inexperienced despite his zeal, he was rapidly captured and imprisoned. He disappeared shortly after from his cell, never to reappear, and was probably murdered by his uncle, which is
