Chevalerie

Chevalerie is a respectable Standpoint from Cœur-du-Temps Parliament. It hosts an adventuring company, a sizeable market, a studium and a Loysanim farm. Its nearly 1700 inhabitants live a quiet life, so quiet in fact that strangers are often startled by the silence in the crowded streets.   People in Chevalerie are rumored to marry young, very young, sometimes as young as 10. In fact, they go travelling in time flow when they reach 15, an initiatic adventure who frequently lasts one decenny, and may only marry after coming back, something that is not quite uncommon in heavely adventuring Standpoints. As a result, they often marry while their bodies are aged 18 to 23, which is admittedly quite low compared to their Time Flow neighbours; and parents rarely meet their grandchildren.

The Countess Evi Lamar of Chevalerie (and her heirs)

Chevalerie is led by Countess Evi Lamar of Chevalerie, a 57 years old lady married to Lú, a blond giant of a retired adventurer nearly 60 of age. They had both, as per Chevalerie uses, left for travel before they reached adulthood and married after a few decennies of adventuring, so despite being said to be, reespectively, 57 and 60, they have seen about 30 more winters each.   Their firstborn daughter, Magdalene, is due to inherit the title and rule. Born 37 years ago, she left to travel when she was 14, slightly younger than the usual, and married upon returning after a tour of ten years to Isaiah, an adventurer who had delayed marrying and was undertaking various missions - such as keeping an eye on the Heiress' whereabouts. Their apparent ages are thus quite distorted as she appears 27 and him 39. Their work in the Adventurers Guild now full Time Void, in the administration and leadership.   Their son Notos, 11, will usually be seen watching silently what come and goes either at Evi's office, or at one of his parents, while the youngest son, Gislenus, sleeping or playing near is mother, stays at her side and she sometimes assists to reunion while feeding him milk. The daughters, Vardah (8) and Renée (5), take classes in the studium as well as art and sword art classes, and their inseparable blond heads are nether too far from one another.   Magdalene's younger brother, Caracalla, has just come back from Time Flow, where he stayed for 15 years, following events from Bruges. He appears to be 15 and has yet to marry - for the time being, he is Grand Librarian, a post which had been in disarray and has been made alive again just for him. Caracalla is an avid reader who knows his library better than his own pocket and he dreams of travelling to nearby Standpoints and visit their libraries. He hopes to do it before he marries - maybe even meat a lovely library rat somewhere ?   Their younger sister Zélie has spent slightly less time in Time Flow and thus appears older than Caracalla - about 16. She is a woman of great beauty, all white skin, blond hair and green eyes, with just the right amount of freckles. She is aiming to earn a degree from Nostalgia in Many Languages, but first she owes a few years of public service to the Standpoint to pay back her education, like everyone else.   Sigihild who used to be younger than Zélie now apparently has the same age. She came back from travel a few weeks before Zélie and decided to apprentice in tavern holding, using her status as fourth child to get away from responsibility in the Hold.   The last two daughters of Evi and Lú, Maud and Cunigund, born respectively 24 and 18 years ago, are both still in Time Void, where they have been gone for 8 and 2 years.

Notable Places

The market place is where the tavern, temple and most shops are located, while the Hold is further away on the mound.   Le Cygne blanc is the inn-tavern where Sigihild apprentices. A squad of the town guard usually watches it closely, half because the daughter of the countess dwells here, half because brauls could maybe happen, and half because "sewer monsters" persist coming up from the cave (or so is the rumour. Maybe just a thing for tourists. Or is?). The owner, Perig Labelle, a brown 29 yo, is an ex-adventurer and a foreigner; he married local woman Kallisto, apparent 19 yo. She had met him in the time flow territory of Skhizdohn and she dragged him back here for marrying. They have a 2 yo baby, Gamaliel, who is their biggest pride with their shop, and whom Sigihild adores along with about every patron.
