While almost certainly older, the current calendar dates back to the tail end of a great war. History before this isn't on any form of record, but the ruins and remnants of these previously great civilisations and kingdoms can be found scattered across the world. A large number of dungeons and tombs are still undiscovered, providing a hearty reward or dangerous grave for eager treasure hunters.
The grand history of Tilvera is broken into a number of ages defined by the great events within them. While some individual events may be unknown to certain people of the world, the defining ages are common knowledge.
The Age of Ancients
Long before recorded history, the gods of the pantheon survived and lived in the cosmos. It was during this age that they created the Leviathans, Tilvera, and the mortal races of the world. After disagreement between the gods and leviathans, a great conflict erupted across the multiverse and engulfed all of existence. Towards the end of this war, the Leviathans were imprisoned, along with their own creations, the Valkyries.
This age is broken into a small number of holy books that retell the events in as much detail as possible:
- The Book of Ancestry; the first events of the cosmic multiverse, the creation of the pantheon and gods themselves.
- The Book of Foundation; the creation of the Leviathan Dragons and their impact on the multiverse before the war.
- The Book of Strife; the great tome that details the events of the war, and the great atrocities that took place.
- The Book of Judgement; the final days of the war and the events that led to the defeat of the Leviathans.
The Age of Discovery
Following the war, the aftershocks could still be felt throughout the multiverse. The first few hundred years are made up of the cosmos cleaning up loose ends of the conflict, while the mortal races find their feet in a new world. During this time the first Legions of Spring are formed to handle the events of Tilvera while the gods are otherwise occupied. Many kingdoms rise and fall during this time and history moves quickly, most of it to be forgotten.

The Age of Heroes
A golden age of the world. The 5th Legion of Spring are known across Tilvera as the greatest heroes the world has ever seen. As they and others journey across the lands defeating monsters and saving kingdoms, villains plot just below the surface. Ancient evils and hidden organisations put their plans in motion, ready for the inevitable downfall of these legends.

The Age of Mystery
A shrouded era of the worlds history, most don't recall the events and history of this time. While there are those who believe nothing of note happened, others whisper of some magical force that made the world forget. While none may know for sure, there is always potential to remember.
The Age of Destruction
Heroes have been absent for thousands of years. Villains have risen in every corner of the world, whether making their intentions known or not. Kingdoms collapse into ruin and wars rage across continents. The world is plunged into a darkness it hasn't known since the beginning of recorded history, and the survivors will have to work hard to return to the light again.

The Age of Fate
A prophesised age of the world to follow the Age of Destruction. Scholars and seers believe that the next age will be brought in with the next Legion of Spring, and that the current darkness of the world is due to the gods lack of presence in the affairs of mortals. None know when this age will come, but all are hoping it's soon.
