Session 010: Ultrosnaughts Report
General Summary
Session 10
Today the Chosen faced the Ultros.
The Chosen made their way inside & found a dozen burnished Dragonlord coins (possessing them confer the ability to know Draconic). As well as some magical items. There was a journal as well.
Flipping through the journal Oren paused & read the tale of how Estor became undead.
The Curse of Estor Arkelander
The atrocities of Estor Arkelander made his dragon to abandon him. But even without his mount Estor continued his murderous campaign against the native creatures as the captain of the Ultros, a magical ship with a crew nearly as savage and bloodthirsty as Estor himself. The crew of the Ultros ravaged the islands of Thylea, leaving slaughter in their wake. Sydon threw everything against the vessel, trying to smash it with hundred-foot waves or drag it down to the bottom of the sea. The magic of the Ultros was so powerful even the God of Storms couldn’t sink it.
With Sydon’s failure, it fell to Lutheria to find a way to end Estor’s reign of terror. She approached the barbaric Captain in a dream: if Estor swore to end his massacres against her children, she would give him and his crew eternal life by ritual magic. Estor, was naturally wary of a trap, particularly when approached by a naked goddess in his dreams, but he knew that he was safe on the Ultros. Even the Goddess of Death could not harm him. Seduced by the Goddess, he woke from his dream and slit the throats of his officers as a blood sacrifice to begin her immortality ritual.
Lutheria came to him on a cold wind, swooping in from void of a moonless night to land on the deck of the Ultros. The Captain, as Estor now styled himself, was enchanted by her cold, cruel beauty and lay with the Goddess to consummate the arrangement. The two were surrounded by the leering corpses of his butchered men.
As the first rays of sun climbed over the horizon, Lutheria vanished. The officers that Estor had murdered rose to their feet. Though all knew how Estor had betrayed them, Lutheria’s ritual bound them to his will. When they saluted their Captain, Estor let out a great, roaring laugh. He knew he had been blessed by Lutheria and would never die.
The blessing of the Goddess of Death soon revealed its nature as a curse. Estor and his crew could not die, but they still felt pain: wounds would not kill them, but did they never healed. Instead, they festered and rotted. Age could not touch them, but they felt the ravages of disease and illness. Lutheria was true to her word: as the years turned to decades and then centuries, they did not die. They endured as twisted and disfigured creatures, trapped in a world between life and death as they were slowly driven mad.
After centuries of torment, Estor and his crew tried to break Lutheria’s curse with a second ritual. They sought the release of death, but the Mistress of Death would not grant them peace. Their bodies decomposed and fell away, but their spirits were bound to the Ultros, now a ship manned by ghosts and doomed to forever sail the seas of Thylea.
Oren was so engrossed in the journal he didn't notice the rest of the Chosen of the Oracle arrive.
Hulgnir took Kyrah aside & asked her about that dream he had of her, the party dead & Kyrah shattered into millions of pieces. Kyrah smiled & shrugged at that.
Searching the Captain's quarters then proceeding down the oar room.
Pyra spoke agreement to the eyeless white skinned drummer woman in the oar room, when she asked, Are you ready to travel to Mytros?
The Ultros took off as Oren yelled No no no. Wait
The ship went underwater & appeared in the Cerulean Gulf, & took a day to travel to Mytros.
As the Chosen slept they had a shared waking dream of being inducted as Estor's thanes & potential successors to Estor's captaincy.
Estor directed his Thanes to swear an oath to the Ultros. Most of the Chosen swore the oath, thus the Ultros will listen to their unspoken commands.
Ollidak swore to Estor that he'd get first pick of the treasure of the Dragonlords.
The Chosen fought the first Thane on the upper deck, the second in the Crew quarter's, & the last in the Captain's quarter's.
This got Estor to appear & he made an offer of power. When he saw Kyrah he became enraged, calling her bitch, saying that she's really ARKRANIA his Dragon.
Oren took the deal & soon discovered that he could feel Kyrah's location, emotional state, & thoughts.
Shaping Hulgnir's neck, slipping John's throat, stabbing Ollidak through the heart,
Veronica he went for last, though before she succumbed to her wounds a radiant golden glow surrounded Kyrah.
The Chosen were all successfully healed, & ressurected. It was also as if they had a long rest.
Euadne appeared sucked through s portal while studying the shellshard on Dragons (she can meditate & achieve the same effect of studying thr book for Dragon information.), it was permanently made a part of Euadne.
John's Titanstone Knuckles grew in strength, STR to 22 now .
Euadne's Staff of Magius grew in strength
it gained a magical bonus of +1, allowed Euadne to prepare an extra spell slot.
The Chosen fought Estor on & he went after Kyrah.
She was weakened by the use of her divine power.
The Battle was finally won & Estor faded back into the ethereal realm chuckling.
The Chosen looted the Ultros, finding many items.
The Chosen now had enough Goggles of the Night that all could see in the Dark, at disadvantage.
The. Chosen now had armor that gave a swimming speed, & a dagger. Both enchanted.
The Chosen soon awoke, & arrived in Mytros.
They were met with Queen Vallus, & her husband King Acastus (the last person the Chosen wanted to know they had the Ultros) rode in on Icarus his Silver Dragon.
After some talking in Draconic with Hulgnir the Chosen soon realized that somehow the mind of Icarus was immature for his size/age.
Queen Vallus told them she'd upgrade the Ultros.
Oren is now captain of the Ultros & it will count as his stronghold. It will be bloodied when it is launched next.
Versi was present, & said she'd join the Chosen on the Ultros.
She told Hulgnir about the Fortress of the Dragonlords being in the Garden of Helios.
Kyrah & Vallus had a long conversation between each other.
Kyrah then found Oren & offered to tell him the final tale, on oath that he never tell anyone or soul. She was able tell him because Oren was a follower of Kyrah's, though she is now mortal she still has slight divine power. So she downloaded the entire truth of her & her family into Oren’s mind.
Bringing in the Ultros raised everyone's fame to 7.
Ollidak got an innkeeper to promise free inn to some of his old crew.
Oren went to see The Lady of Coins, he returned with a plan. Oren made a deal with the Lady, who was surrounded by her Minotaur guards, as always.
The Chosen freed the Minotaur's & sent them to the Mithril Mines.
Volkan sent a Keledone with the Armour of Mytros for Hulgnir. Taking 500GP & the Shield of Volkan from Hulgnir to Volkan.
The Chosen were at a loss as what to fo while awaiting the attack on the Mithril Mines (it takes a day to travel to the Mithril Mines, without resting. That's without a mount. It would take a day with a long rest with mounts.)
Vallus asked for help with the Temple of Lutheria in Stygian Row. She wants evidence against them discreetly collected, as the Cult of Lutheria brings in most of Mytros' wine.
The Queen told the Chosen about the Great Games (for martial characters. There is of course, a rule of no magic items allowed.)
The Lady of Coins reminded Oren of the Great Thieves Games run during the Great Games. (Fixing events, stealing winnings, avoiding traps, picking pockets)
Their are Wizard's Great Games. Debates, & an annual Tower contest.
Holy games as well, contests of faith & miracles.

The Lady of Coins requested her daughter be sent to her.
Will the Chosen remain in Mytros & finish off a quest or two?
Will the Chosen start calling themselves the Ultrosnaughts?
Will the Chosen be able to free the Minotaur's?
6 days to the siege of the Mithril Mines.
It will take a day with rest to get to Estoria, & 4 hours to get to the Mithril Mines. Assuming no complications......
