Session 004: Rekindled Forges & Saved Princess Report
General Summary
Another 7 hour one.
The party rested, & were visited by Lutheria. She goaded them, telling them that mortal lives don't matter.
She displayed an old frail man tied to a peg, & murdered him.
She didn't seem happy that the Heroes of the Oracle were undoing the work of her inspired curse. No matter how 'touched by the Gods' they are.
This caused the party to succumb to madness for a short term. Daxsom being stoned was immune to this effect, & didn't awake after the 24 hour period was done.
Euadne didn't like that & recalled how Lutheria was the Titan/Goddess of Dreams (nightmares really) & death.
Oren & John placed Daxsom in one of the beds.
Kyrah realized that there was no room in the elevator for their now 6 members. She suggested that Oren fly down, wanting to see him fly. John went with Oren on a controlled fall into the gaping hole.
They landed seeing just enough light in the background to see the hall & make their way down there.
Euadne, Hulgnir, Kyrah, & Veronica made their way by the elevator. The doors closed & initiative was rolled. Oil started to pour into the elevator through four Dragon heads. The started plugging them up, & Hulgnir did a line off of Kyrah's arm.
They heard the roar of fire. They managed to plug the four dragon heads before the fire raged inside the elevator. This burnt away Hulgnir's pants, so he started to Donald Ducking it.
When John turned the corner he saw.
Both Oren & John first spoke to this Cerberus from the Underworld. He was massive as large as the one that was dead upstairs.
He told them that he was a servant of Lutheria. And that he was going to eat them.
Oren antagonized it & got it to chase them, so it would jump down the chasm. It succeeded though, the Cerberus was able to get off a couple of fire breath attacks on Oren & John. This resulted in Oren going down.
Being a worshipper of Kyrah, she felt it. She ran faster than she's ever run to help save Oren. Euadne was surprised then recalled how Kyrah was said to be the fastests of all the gods. Something that she used for her love of pranking.
The party then went to the center of the floor to the heart of everything.
There they found two death dogs. Hulgnir tried to command one to swim in the lava pool & he didn't like that. Becoming hostile.
Both death dogs were eventually defeated. Out of the lava came forth a giant Salamander a powerful fire elemental.
The Forgekeeper keep told them of the contract that had bound her here for 500 years in the room Oren & John had come from.
Oren offered to give it to her, as everyone should be free.
The Forgekeeper took it & it melted as soon as it touched her hand. She then asked the party to stop the bronze sphere that shot cold at her every time she left the pool.of lava. A trap against her.
With investigation it was determined that they couldn't jam it. So they opted to destroy it.
Freeing her she started the forge & told the Chosen of the Oracle that she would forge for them until they rebuilt the Order of the Dragonlords.
The Oracle's Chosen have completed the first of their labours. Thus earning themselves both a fame point & a level. As well as the Mithril Mines as Stronghold. Hulgnir saw how it could be used to as a base for himself.
LEVEL 3
Upon their arrival to Estoria...
Fighting the Statues of the Five gods drunk out of his mind.
Upon seeing Oren & John join him he ushered everyone but the Oracle’s Chosen with a few quick, obviously practiced gestures.
Pythor seeing the party pleaded them to help him save his daughter Anora. This earned him some harsh words from his sister, Kyrah.
Though it didn't go well at first, in Kyrah's eyes so she ran in a flash.
Things settled down soon after she returned with, her Dwarven father Volkan God of the Forges.
Volkan told the party that the Give Gods cannot intervene directly. (Every being in Thylea is deeply afraid of the Furies, the dispensers of justice. The argument that the Furies are the true 'Gods' is very common in all walks of life in Thylea.)
Kyrah was the only one of the five willing to travel with the Oracle's Chosen. She was close to breaking the Oath of Peace, & the swore that to save the lives of billions. They can't break it.
Volkan explained the state of his son. A God of Battle having 500 years of peace, & a Dragon (Hexia) has been kidnapping his children/consorts.
Once Volkan learnt of the Mithril Mines being open, he asked Pythor to give the Chosen his hammer. Volkan would forge for the new Dragonlords. He had a few ideas already in mind.
The party went around Estoria taking care of business. Selling a ring & buying a new bow were on Orin's mind. He found a buyer who would pay full price for it with a natural 20. Oren bought a new bow, in the Agora.
Oren met Claus there who was selling a necklace of fireballs with 1 stone left, for 1 GP. Oren was warned about The Curse of the Graverobber & did it anyways. It was stolen from the TOMB OF DORION NEURDAGON.
Euadne gave the Dwarven bones to the Dwarves at the bar getting 180 GP as reward for her efforts. People in the pub offered to buy drinks for the Chosen, challenged them to arm wrestling matches, & begged to hear their stories: defeat of the boar, saving Versi.
The Chosen made their way to the Rock of Estor where Anora was chained awaiting her sacrifice. (Being turned to stone by Basilisks & then eaten by them.)
The options presented to them by Pythor were:
1. Let the sacrifice occur
2. Negotiate a different sacrifice, 10,000 GP worth of animals, the Chosen, etc.
3. Challenge the centaurs to equal combat. Kyrah advised heavily against that course of action. Knowing that the forces were strong. They had a Cyclops with them.
They challenged the leader of Sydon’s forces to combat. Combat was tense, & difficult. (Cyclops had 150 HP, & enemies +9 to hit.) Everyone or almost everyone was knocked unconscious. Veronica failed three death saving throws, dying.
Eventually the Chosen were victorious. Earning themselves another fame point & level.
The party had a long & difficult combat.
3 centaurs, a cyclops (150 HP), & a Centaur leader against the 5 party members.
Almost or all if the Chosen went down at least once, with Veronica failing her death saving throws.
Things looked grim for the party, & with all the odds against them they prevailed.
Kyrah gave Hulgnir a scroll of True Resurrection, & Veronica was brought back to life.(edited)
Pythor threw a party & gave the Chosen his hammer. Euadne identified it & discovered that it had the ability to teleport (or 'Mjolnir' to the attuned's hand).
Volkan sought out the party members, giving each a gift for saving his granddaughter.
To Oren he gave a gift of his own design. Twin daggers made of orichalcum, with Volkan on one hit, & Mytros on the other. The hilts had: Kyrah, Pythor, & Vallus plus two unknown people on them. (The blades reflect each other, when looking into the blade of one one sees what's happening on the second blade. With a command word it will point to the other, if on the same plane. If one is destroyed the other shatters.)
To Euadne Volkan told that the shellshard with the Book of Dragons was incomplete. Volkan had destroyed the knowledge of how to hatch Dragon eggs. (Will still provide the benefit of +1 int). He gave her a ring as compensation.
To Hulgnir Volkan grumbling about the necessity of pants due to their heights gave him a pair of magical pants that can change colour with an action.
To John Volkan gave a leash that would assist him in training his cockatrice. Volkan also informed John he'd watch the Cockatrice when adventuring became too dangerous for it.
To Veronica he gave Mithral Dorata +1.
While drinking Kyrah sang her favourite song:

and said "You're all going to Thylea to help, geddown there!"
Vallus begged and pleaded to be allowed to stay
But Mytros patted our heads and sent us on our way
"The mortals need help out of this sitcky wicket!"
I pulled out my lyre and said I might as well kick it
A goddess? Me? This is great!
We got control of things of things like war and fate!
Is this what being worshipped by mortals be like
Hmm this might be all right!
I played for the mortals and when they came near
They said I looked like a human, and they gave me a mirror
But the titans needed a beatin', they just weren't right
Pythor said "Come on, let's join the fight!"
Under Thylea's boughs, was year seven or eight
And I yelled to the titans "Yo fools, smell ya later!"
The Oath of Peace signed, it was finally time
To sit on my throne, as the goddess of Rhyme!
The party now at level 4, fame 4 (honour), & piety 4 (sanity).
In the party Thericles came & asked John if he would check in on his daughter, Corinna who had disappeared into the old wood, offering a reward
The Oracle's Chosen, have made allies of two more of the Five Gods.
With 3 options presented to them:
1. As they are in Estoria they could go to the Dragon Shrine, in town, drink from the Horn of Balmytria. Completing a labour.
2. Goto the Necropolis of Telamok for Euadne.
3. Find the armaments of the first Dragonlord
4. Goto the Mossy temple to speak to Demetria.
