Kavanian

Kavanians are the native ethnicity of Kavania.

Physical Description

Kavanians are a diverse group of people, mostly due to its extensive history of foreign occupiers and Desert Age nomads. Kavanians tend to be light skinned, but all hair colors are apparent, with brown, blonde, and black being the most common. Kavanians can have any eye color. The average Kavanian male stands at about 5'7", and the average female height is 5'2".
The farther south one is in Kavania, the more fair and blonde people tend to be. The farther north one is, the more dusky and dark, due to the ethnic influence of the Cragmen .

Kavanian men must prove their worth through their work, which is often assigned to them as a byproduct of their birth or given a profession that their lord has need of. Women are raised traditionally as well, to bring up children and manage the household, land, or estate.

Marriage is ideal, especially if it improves social standing or serves pragmatic purpose. Many Kavanians don't choose their marriage partners -- usually that is arranged by the head of the family. This is especially true for ruling nobles and highborn.
