Cragmen

The Cragmen are the people of Stony Barrens . They are a more primitive culture, having been natives of the region since the Desert Age. They are made up of various tribes who are each ruled by their own chieftan. They are a secretive people who isolate themselves from Kavania . However, they are an opportunistic people and over the last thousand years, the Cragmen have periodically marauded the countryside, and usually only in times of famine. They have never taken any holdfasts or waged war on the Six Provinces of Kavania .

History

The Cragmen are closely related to the primitive nomads of the distant past, having settled after the end of the Desert Age. In recent centuries, they have become less nomadic, settling in fortified hovels.

Culture

While less civilized than Kavanians , the Cragmen are not a highly savage people. Hunter-gatherers make up the brunt of each tribe, with men taking the traditional role of hunter and women taking the traditional role of gatherer. Much of their time is spent just surviving, as there is little fertile land in the Stony Barrens. Cragmen spend leisure time crafting, carousing, storytelling, and playing games with their fellow tribespeople.
