As if I was not dealing with enough shit, last night fucking Jonathon Moulton the fourth came around sniffing after Ichabod. I don't know where he heard about my creepy little kitty, but he showed up at my clinic as I was trying to leave, and since he wasn't hitting on me with all the sublety of a steam roller like he normally does, I was fucking suspicious. He thinks he's all suave, but it was pretty clear that he was trying to get a good look at what was inside the cat carrier, and while it's a nice fucking break from trying to stare down my shirt, I'm freaked out about his interest in a kitten that he shouldn't know *anything* about. Unless he does, right? He even tried to buy him from me, waved a fifty dollar bill around like it was something I'd get wet over, and seemed shocked when I told him no, flipped him off, and drove away.

Later that night, Hambone (that's my dog) started barking like crazy. He never does that, and when I got up to figure out why, I saw someone running away from my back door. Now, I live out in the middle of nowhere. Someone out there - they've come to my house. There's nothing else out here. This wasn't some coincidence.

I didn't get much sleep after that. The Moultons - well, they own this town. Have for about a century. First there was the mill, and after that closed down, its just about everything else. The bank, the stores, most of the houses - people work for the Moultons, and then they pay them rent to live here. I'm an odd one out there; I don't owe them anything. But that doesn't mean they can't make trouble for me. They can make plenty of trouble.

I don't know why they want Icky. I mean, I know why Icky's interesting, but how the hell do they know? Do they have some kind of surveillance on me? Or maybe they are the reason he needs duct tape to keep his head attached?

What would you do? And don't say give them Icky. They can't have my fucking cat.

Have you reported the intruder yet? I'd start there, get a report on file. Try to make a paper trail of what's going on. Do the Moultons control the local police?

The town police won't go against them - I went to high school with most of those guys, and they don't have the balls. I can call the county sheriff though - technically, my property crosses the town limits, so I can call either.

Make the report. If they are coming to your home, that is unacceptable. But I wouldn't count on police here. I can help you to put in some protections around your home to help keep off any magical attacks - if these Moultons have anything to do with Ichabod's creation, or think they can use him in some magical way, they may be able to come at you in that manner. If not - well, it doesn't hurt.

SUBJECT: bastards

They put up lost cat posters. All around my clinic, with Ichabod's description, right down to the Duct Tape Collar. My tech saw them, and brought one to me. Now, if I don't call them and give Icky back, it looks like I'm keeping him from his loving owners. I'm pissed as hell, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it.
