The Warrens
The area of the Town of Redstone known as the Warrens is actually a 50+ acre slope of Bright Mountain that is the primary entrance and operational location of three galena mines. Galena is a naturally-occurring mineral that is the primary source of lead. In addition to lead, small but valuable amounts of other metals are also extracted from these mines, and include tin, copper, bismuth, pyrite and even some gold and silver.
Just outside the mine's entrances and about 300 yards downslope are several furnaces where the galena is cooked over wood and charcoal fires to extract the metals from the ore. In total, the Warrens employs more than 175 Dwarves, Humans and Gnomes.
Purpose / Function
A district of the Town of Redstone located on the eastern slopes of Bright Mountain, containing several mines and smelting furnaces used to extract and refine lead.
