Samas
Samas is the primary divinity of the Cartorian culture. Typically depicted as a winged humanoid figure of great stature and grand physical appearance, Samas is an angelic-looking being in art and descriptive literature.
The Cult of Samas holds very secret sacrifices to the angelic deity, sacrifices that include the slaughter of an innocent child three times a year. For the life of the children, Samas gives as a blessing a measure of his blood to those making the sacrifice. This blood, when consumed, grants supernatural health, increased strength and exceptionally long life. Humans that have consumed the blood of Samas have lived for as long as 300 years, far, far longer than the normal Human lifespan.
Recipients of this blood find unnatural reserves of physical strength. Wherein a normal Human male would find carrying the equivalent of his own body weight for any significant amount of time both difficult and draining, the consumers of this "blessing" find themselves able to do it with relative ease. Health is also greatly enhanced. Drinkers of the Blood of Samas find themselves not only cured of all aches, pains and ailments but increasingly capapble of avoiding any future sickness or disease for years after drinking the blood.
The most incredible effect of the blood is unnaturally long life. A single dose of the blood can add decades to a lifetime, while regular drinkers (such as the Amir himself) have lived for as long as 300 years.

Tenets of Faith
Samas promises life, health and strength to his followers, all gifts given in abundance for the simple sacrifice of an innocent child's life three times a year. With the sacrifice of the child, Samas offers his own blood to his people which imparts health, increased strength and exceptionally long life to those that partake of it.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Universally depicted as a tall, strongly-built winged humanoid. Shown as tall, muscular and beautiful with long flowing golden hair, flawless skin, huge white-feathered wings on his back. He is garbed in flowing white robes and wreathed in golden light.
Physical quirks
In actuality, Samas is an immortal being that can assume an angelic form but its true physical form is a misshappen and deformed humanoid of small stature. It has a proportionally huge bald head, small rotund body, under developed arms and legs and grey, pallid flesh. The only feature it physically maintains that compares to its traditional depictions are the large, white-feathered wings on its back.
Special abilities
The blood that Samas shares with his followers gives an unnatural degree of health, strength and youth to those that consume it. The sacrifices that are offered to it are three innocent new-born babies slaughtered three times a year on a single black altar located in the City of Abusama on the main island of Cartor. It is not fully understood what Samas gains by the sacrifices, but with the conclussion of each ceremony, the remains of the dead child are seen to be desiccated husks of thier former selves. All blood, fluid and moisture are removed from the dead child's corpse.
