Greenbrae Gate
The Greenbrae Gate is a huge stone circle of incredible age located deep within the Greenbrae Forest. Sometimes called the Greenbrae Henge, it is comprised of 57 massive standing stones (it is originally thought that there were 80 stones) still extant, 38 of which are capped by equally massive lintel stones to form 19 huge trilithons. The smallest of these standing stones is estimated to weight 70 tons, while the largest is thought to weigh 96 tons. The 19 lintel stones are all secured in place by mortice and tenon joints precisely carved into their surfaces and hold the stones together tightly even to this day.
The circle formed by these stones is 36 yards in diameter (108'), with a single massive obelisk-like pillar standing 61' tall in the exact center of the ring. This pillar is very roughly carved into a rectangular shape at its base and tapers to a near circular cross section at it's top.

Design
There are 57 remaining standing stones in the circle, but some experts believe the circle had as many as 80 stones originally. No fallen or broken stones remain, however, and only depressions in the earth hint at missing stones. Of the 57 stones, 38 are capped with lintels made of identical stone shaped with mortis and tenons to secure them to the uprights. These lintel stones create 19 trilithons in total, eight of which align perfectly with the four cardinal points of the compass (N,S,E and W) and the four intercardinal points (NE, SE, SW, and NW).
Sensory & Appearance
Within the circle of massive stones, no evidence of living creatures can be found. There is no blade of grass, no growth of moss, no insects, worms or vermin. Even the dirt between the stones is dry and lifeless, more like course sand than soil. No birds can be heard singing within sight of the stones, nor can any animals be found anywhere near the circle. The few souls brave enough to enter the circle have noted that even sound is muted and deadened within the ring. The effect is often described as hearing something "under water" or "muffled by great pillows".
Several observers have noted marked temperature differences within the ring of stones, with the interior being noticeably colder than the outside. This observation was not noted to be universal, however.
Special Properties
It is rumored that the circle of stones is a gateway to the realm of the dead. Adherents to the Pantheon of Heaven faith call it a Hellgate, while Druidic followers would term it a Portal to Feye.
Architecture
Constructed of very crudely shaped natural rock slabs weighing between 70 and 100 tons each. The tallest is the center obelisk that is 61' from ground to top, while the tallest standing stone within the circle is 41' tall. The shortest standing stone within the circle is 38' tall.
