Gabrix Stones
A Gabrix stone is a precious gem, either cut or uncut, that has been imbued with a magical property or effect by the master gemsmith, Regis Gabrix of the City of Len Doa. These gems are often mounted or set into items that make them more useful or easier to handle that they would be by themselves, and some are mounted with other Gabrix stones to increase or add to the property or effect that only a single stone would provide.
While other stones and items have been known to be imbued with magical properties in the past, the only known living craftsman that can repeatedly accomplish this monumental task successfully is Regis Gabrix. He has admitted to creating no fewer than 244 Gabrix stones over the course of his 210-year life and these stone are some of the most wonderous and valuable gems known. The properties and effects of these gems are quite varied, ranging from stones set into rings that can allow a blind person that wears it to see perfectly to pendants set with stones that allow the wearer to breath underwater for as long as they wear the pendant.
Manufacturing process
Gabrix has never divulged the actual process by which he crafts these amazing gems, but it is well known that the effort is monumentally taxing on his body and soul. Some stones have taken him as long as 40 hours of uninterupted effort, and at least twice he was so exhausted by the effort he nearly died.

Raw materials & Components
Gabrix stones are made of the finest precious gems known. They can be cut or uncut, but all must be flawless and pure in nature and content. It is only the stones themselves that are imbued with the magical properties, and should a mounted or set stone be removed from a ring, pendant or weapon, the setting is simply a nonmagical item again with no special properties remaining.
