Castrum Immanis
The Castrum Immanis is the official residence and seat of authority for the Archon of the City of Ilandorian in the Elven Realm of Naru. It is an immense stone fortress located on the top of a large rocky butte located on the eastern extreme of the City of Ilandorian. Built more than 1,000 years ago, it has been the primary residence and seat of governance for the Archonate of Ilandorian since it was completed.
The Castrum's name is the Vytuian word for immense, and it is an apt descriptor. In its current state, there are 21 functional towers and 11 usable bridges connecting those towers to other portions of the castle. It covers an area of only four acres, but very nearly every inch of those four acres are multi-storied towers and keeps that keep and house a population of more than 800 souls
Purpose / Function
Official seat of governance for the Archonate of Ilandorian and the last remaining fortification of the city.
Entries
The Castrum is accessed via a long stone causeway of more than 600'. On the city-side of this causeway is a large stone-paved square where the preserved skull of the infamous Maliorax is found on permanent display as a memorial to the more than 460 souls the beast killed during its war against the City.
Denizens
811 Elves live and work in the Castrum, including the Archon, Terram'a Seth and his large family. Of the more than 800 residents, at least 500 are servants and staff, a demographic the Castrum shares with much of the rest of the Archonate.
Alterations
The Castrum displays the wounds of an attack by a massive Red Dragon known as Maliorax that occurred 401 years earlier. Damage is still plainly visible to two of the large outer towers, and one of those towers has been abandoned for four centuries because the bridge connecting it with the rest of the Castrum has never been rebuilt.
